Stubby Big Beast
This knife just misses being a 5 star. I've been playing with this blade for about two weeks now and am loving everything it can do. The choil is excellent and really lets you get control when doing smaller tasks. The flat grind is excellent for slicing. The tip is very strong. Just don't try and pry up a manhole cover with it! Batons small to slightly larger wood pieces with ease. Love the pommel as it can crush walnuts with no problems. If it has any one weakness it would be the handle slabs. They are thick. If you have small hands this could be a problem. Having medium sized hands I found the handle to be just about right. Any bigger and I would have issues. Handle does offer a fairly decent grip too. Have not tired using it in wet conditions. It can chop, just not the best chopper. Not heavy enough to make quick work. As for the blade it was sharp just not razor sharp. It did not take long to fix that issue. I also found a web site that offers replacement handle slabs if I should ever decide to go that route. The sheath, while not the best, is decent enough. Will more than likely replace at some time. One thing I did like about the sheath is that it has snaps as opposed to Velcro! Overall this is an excellent investment when considering price to performance. Highly recommended.
