Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Zytel Handles
Zytel Handles
A nylon polymer that is lightweight and extremely durable, Zytel can be shaped and textured to provide excellent grip.

Okay this thing's a beast
Got this this morning in the mail all I can say is holy snit this is a damn monster,I got it for a large fighting knife as I don't have one (got plenty of swords but no real knives) and I'd say this'll do the job very, very well. If you're looking for a good affordable bowie this one would fill that role I haven't tried it yet but I see no problems chopping down a small tree with it. Only thing I'm going to change is the scabbard, the one that it comes with is sufficient however as a fighting knife you don't want to have to be fooling with snaps and straps so I'm going to get a kydex custom for it soon. If you're just going to use it for hunting or survival then the scabbard is fine.

Love It!!!
I have actually owned mine for about 12 or 13 years. I've used it camping. Mostly chopping branches. From 1" up to prob 5" on occasion. I've used it to strip bark from branches for kindling and even had to use it to clean fish when there was no filleting knife around. I also wear in when going on hikes and just going on walks with the family as another form of protection. It feels great in my hand and in my opinion a beautiful tool. Before I purchased my Bowie I was looking for another Bowie because my favorite blade style happens to be the Bowie knife. Then I saw it and read the specs and had to have it. I'm glad I did. Been using ever since. Also keeps an edge very well even with regular use.
