1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Zytel Handles
Zytel Handles
A nylon polymer that is lightweight and extremely durable, Zytel can be shaped and textured to provide excellent grip.

Pros: Blade Material, Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
CQC knife.
I owned this knife for almost 15yrs. I never used it in a fight, but it is a good close quarter combat knife. you could use it for survival, but rather use survival knives for those task. however I did best it up a little bit and sharpened it few times. overall I like Ontario knives company. oh also Sheath is interesting, you can modify it or find ways to strap it to your body or carrying gear.

Great Knife
I've got to say that this blade is excellent. I have been buying Ontario knives for the last 15-20 years or so and have about a half a dozen of this particular model. It's not for food preparation, it's not stainless so quit bitching and understand what you're buying a particular design for. It is an excellent full tang combat knife, period. 25yrs in the infantry, 4 combat tours, it is what it is, excellent.
