OP7: N07 Folding Knife, Carbon Steel
The Opinel N07 is perfect for those who feel that the N06 could be a little larger. The "in-between" size of the N07 classifies this knife as neither small or big. Stabilized beechwood is ultra resistant and comfortably contoured to fit the hand. The blade is made from X90 Carbon steel, with a high carbon content, which is what makes it possible to achieve the excellent hardness after heat treatment, guaranteeing the strength of the cutting edge, resistance to wear and easy of sharpening. The hardness obtained after heat treatment are theoretically slightly greater in steels that do not contain chrome. The cutting strength is therefore better with a carbon steel knife and sharpening is much easier than a stainless steel blades which contain chrome. However, carbon has a low resistance to corrosion caused by moisture, which means that certain precautionary measures are necessary when using and storing a carbon knives: we recommend that you avoid damp environments and that you dry the blade after each use.
  • This knife features the Virobloc Safety ring. The Virobloc safety ring was invented and implemented in 1955. This simple yet effective locking system greatly improved the original knife. The ability to help prevent the blade from opening when closed was added to the Virobloc in 2000.

Opinel locking Blade 4"
Its a good knife bought it as a gift for my son so it gets mistreated a lot ,and it has held up fine. My only concer is that he is locking the blade when he uses it, which he says every time dad.

Great little knife, perfect size and weight for comfortable all day carry, the lock works great and is very reliable, blade material is awesome and holds/takes a razor sharp edge great. In all a well made inexpensive not cheap quality knife, made like they used to be. And it's for sure gonna be a favorite EDC knife for me.

One of the best
I have a few "Opies" and they are perfect for many of the tasks around the homestead. Being so inexpensive makes it easy to keep them near the areas we use them most. Also being so light weight and balanced makes them easy to keep along in a pocket as well. The thin blade is incredibly sharp and easy to keep that way.
