OP84: N08 Folding Knife, Stainless Steel
The Opinel N08 is the most popular and versatile size in the ever growing line of Opinel folding knives. This knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and its 3.25" blade is capable for most all of your cutting needs. Stabilized beechwood is ultra resistant and comfortably contoured to fit the hand. The blade is made from 12C27 Sandvik Stainless steel, which will not rust, however try to avoid leaving your Opinel knife in damp environments for too long and dry the blade after each use.
  • This knife features the Virobloc Safety ring. The Virobloc safety ring was invented and implemented in 1955. This simple yet effective locking system greatly improved the original knife. The ability to help prevent the blade from opening when closed was added to the Virobloc in 2000.

Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel
Utilizes a wide variety of alloys but all contain a minimum of 10.5% Chromium content. Stainless steels will not corrode, rust, or oxidize but are not completely stain-proof so the title is somewhat of a misnomer.
Wood Handles
Wood Handles
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Lock Ease of Use, Handle Feel, Overall Quality, None
Cons: Ease of Opening, Handle Material
Good knife for simple tasks. The blade is thin so it's good for food preparation or similar. Locking mechanism locks open or closed.
