Best hunting knife for 50 plus years
My father gave me a Hunter's Pal for Christmas, over fifty years ago, after I killed my first deer. The knife has been with me ever since. I recall spending many hours honing the blade using a small hard stone and oil - the only time I have had to sharpen it - and it still has retained the original edge. The Hunter's Pal easily fits my hand, has a very good grip, is easy to maneuver when gutting large or small game, yet robust enough to be able to open a deer's chest cavity with only minor effort. The Hunter's Pal is a knife that one could call "A lifetime friend". The only downside is that I had to replace the leather "string" that secures the knife to the sheath - a minor "fix, after all one can't expect the strap to remain in "new" condition after being used many, many times over a half century!
