QAQTR7: Quartermaster Knives QTRMSTR QTR-7TT Texas Tea Thomas Magnum
QTRMSTR Knives is very proud to announce the completion of "Thomas Magnum" the first fixed blade knife of our lineup. Its blade shape is based on the popular, modified-reverse tanto that originally appeared on the QTR-4 "Hannibal" design. From a standpoint of weight distribution: the blade shape is ideal for the interaction of the knife's user and the handle, especially in "heavy cutting" scenarios. Having the extra material (steel) bulge out near the tip of the blade (far from the datum point) exponentially assists the cutter while the knife is in use. It's been tested and proven to be enormously effective in a variety of chopping and hacking applications. Sure the machining on the handle is aggressive, the reason? We don't expect you to be using this type of knife without gloves.

Cons: Blade Sharpness, Weight
Knife #209 of 300 in series.
Paper cutting sharp out of the box, not shaving sharp. Given this knife is a pry and puncture oriented blade, that's perfect. Very thick slab of steel. Coarse grips in the bare hand... but this knife is intended for gloved use. In a gloved hand (fancy tacticool or Mechanix) this knife just feels right. Even with a cold weather glove, the grip is very ergonomic and secure. A futuristic looking piece, to be sure, but it works. The clear sheath is novel, and the adjustable straps make it easy to fit on large belts, duty belts, or gear. 4/5 rating because the grips have some snag points that require a bit of filing to smooth out, but otherwise no faults to be found. Fittings are impressive, and the patina treatment is unique. Would buy another.
