ESEE Knives

Since 1997 Randall's Adventure & Training has designed no-nonsense, affordable field knives specifically targeted to military, law enforcement, and the special operations community. Many of their knives now serve in combat zones around the globe. The knives have a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. ESEE Knives is also setting the standard for many local, state and federal law enforcement officers when it comes to high performance, compact sheath knives with multiple carry options. The NTOA scored the 3-inch fixed blade a 4.77 out of a possible 5. In addition to knives, ESEE also offers survival, land navigation, tracking and other training courses along with free survival information.

This is the model that started it all. After designing the RAT-3 for Ontario Knife Company, it was the first design they brought over when ESEE Knives (Formerly RAT Cutlery) was formed. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. The ESEE-3 is still a favorite amongst law enforcement and military teams due to its light weight, thin profile and various sheath options.

ESEE-3s are shipped with a sheath instruction sheet (below) and Survival Business Card.

1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Micarta Handles
Micarta Handles
Micarta is a compressed layered composite sealed within a thermosetting plastic which creates a strong, attractive material that is impervious to water.

ESEE Knives- well made, well designed, won't let you down
Will use this knife for survival, hunting, bushcraft, foraging, work, and keeping surly bandits at bay. I have recently added this treasure to my small collection of growing tools made or designed by Randall Adventure Training and ESEE, of which I have been a fan for many years. Growing up around cattle, wildlife, hunting, trapping and agriculture, I have used knives multiple times daily since I was a child. One comes to know what works, is well made, design has merit, will stand up to hard work and abuse. Everything that I have purchased that has been designed, made, or even suggested by ESEE and Randall Adventure has been top of the line, trust your life on it. When I was taking survival classes back in the early1980's I wish I had tools like these. Some of my RAT-ESEE knives (TAK,RTAK,E&E-5, ESEE-5 and RYP H.e.i.s.t. have really taken to the field and taken anything I put at them. The ESEE-3 is just the right size for handy day to day chores, and keeping bandits at bay.

Great "junior" ESEE knife
Like this knife's bigger brothers(the ESEE 4,5&6 series),this complete package is manufactured with skill and attention to detail. It is light enough for everyday carry, and useful for a wide range of tasks. This is a "must have" for any fan of this great American company! My only tiny gripe,is that the sheath that's inclued is NOT Foliage Grey, as depicted, but Olive Drab. The knife itself is exactly as shown. No matter,I love it anyway!
