ESEE Knives

Since 1997 Randall's Adventure & Training has designed no-nonsense, affordable field knives specifically targeted to military, law enforcement, and the special operations community. Many of their knives now serve in combat zones around the globe. The knives have a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. ESEE Knives is also setting the standard for many local, state and federal law enforcement officers when it comes to high performance, compact sheath knives with multiple carry options. The NTOA scored the 3-inch fixed blade a 4.77 out of a possible 5. In addition to knives, ESEE also offers survival, land navigation, tracking and other training courses along with free survival information.

The ESEE-4 is one of the most popular ESEE knives ever made. With its 0.1875" blade thickness, it's the perfect blend between toughness and cutting efficiency all in a small package. If you can only choose one, then the ESEE-4 is the do-all workhorse of the ESEE line. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. The ESEE-4 is still a favorite amongst law enforcement and military teams due to its light weight, thin profile and various sheath options.

ESEE-4s are shipped with a sheath instruction sheet (below) and Survival Business Card.

1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Micarta Handles
Micarta Handles
Micarta is a compressed layered composite sealed within a thermosetting plastic which creates a strong, attractive material that is impervious to water.

5 years in and still going strong
this knife is very ergonomical and efficient as a utility/bush-crafting/camping knife. The handle is a good thickness, and has smooth edges unlike some other micarta handles. The blade is berfect for use on wood, and after batoning who knows how many pieces of wood (some as thick as the blade is long haha) the only wear on the knife is the fading of the finish (which is to be expected). The only downside to this knife is the steel which is a high carbon steel which in itself is not a bad thing, actually a very manageable steel, but it does rust so oil is a must. Also, since it is a 4 inch blade you may have a hard time if you're trying to use it on big wood, so either stick with smaller wood or get a bigger knife. Along with that the blade itself is not AS thick as some competitors but it doesn't bog me down at all. And finally the sheath is great and way, way better quality than some of the RAT knives I've owned. All in all it's my favorite knife, even compared to its big brother the Junglas haha

Esee knife
I wish the handle was a 1/2 in.longer, otherwise I would have given it a 5. Knife overall is exceptional. Buy one.
