ESEE Knives
Since 1997 Randall's Adventure & Training has designed no-nonsense, affordable field knives specifically targeted to military, law enforcement, and the special operations community. Many of their knives now serve in combat zones around the globe. The knives have a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. ESEE Knives is also setting the standard for many local, state and federal law enforcement officers when it comes to high performance, compact sheath knives with multiple carry options. The NTOA scored the 3-inch fixed blade a 4.77 out of a possible 5. In addition to knives, ESEE also offers survival, land navigation, tracking and other training courses along with free survival information.

The ESEE-4 is one of the most popular ESEE knives ever made. With its 0.1875" blade thickness, it's the perfect blend between toughness and cutting efficiency all in a small package. If you can only choose one, then the ESEE-4 is the do-all workhorse of the ESEE line. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. The ESEE-4 is still a favorite amongst law enforcement and military teams due to its light weight, thin profile and various sheath options.

ESEE-4s are shipped with a sheath instruction sheet (below) and Survival Business Card.

1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Micarta Handles
Micarta Handles
Micarta is a compressed layered composite sealed within a thermosetting plastic which creates a strong, attractive material that is impervious to water.

What a buy
Extremely sharp blade (best I've seen on 1095 steel), heavy duty construction, great feel in the hand. A little pricey, yes, but love it love it love it!!

Great all-around use fixed blade
This is one of the best all-around fixed blade knives I've ever owned. The edge is razor sharp (regular edge, sharpened clip point and the serrations) and the blade has just enough weight to know its tough but is light weight enough to throw on a belt and pack and not even notice its there. Kydex sheath and knife and provides a secure lock-up. Don't choose the clip point version if you want to use it for bush-craft. Only suggestion I'd like to see is to have the pommel be crafted into a glass-breaker like the Esee 5. But that aside, this is an awesome knife.

Pros: Sheath/Scabbard, Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality, None
Cons: Blade Material, Finish
I use this knife for skinning, cutting of wood twigs, meat prep., opening boxes and other house hold items. I like the sharpness of the knife out of package. The weight is nice as I like a knife with some weight to it. I wanted the green finish but it’s not offered with the sharpened clip point and serrated blade. Over all I’m satisfied and now want the esee 5. I dont care for keeping the knife oiled. Small price to pay for a great blade.
