The Rockstead Knives are, in our opinion, some of the best production knives available on the market. With Rockstead's meticulous craftsmanship and unique designs, this semi-custom folder is worth the premium price tag. The SHIN is the larger version of the Rockstead KOU model. It features a 3.5" YXR7 DLC polished blade and aluminum handles with stingray inlays. The opening action is smooth with a solid liner lock to securely keep the blade locked in place. The incredible mirror finish is achieved by heat treating the blade and gradually hand grinding through 400, 600, 800, 1,200 and 2,000 grits wet-dry sandpaper. This is very intense and time-consuming because if any scratches were to occur during this process, the blade must be sent back to the previous step for refinishing. Once this is complete, the blade will be buffed for the final finish. The folks at Rockstead have mastered this process to give the knife a beautiful finish and sharp edge like no other. Each knife is individually numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity.

With proper maintenance, Rocksteads are known to keep a sharp edge for 2-3 years. Rockstead Knives come with free sharpening and regrinding. You would be responsible for shipping charges to and from Japan.

This is for me, the finest pocket knife in the world. It's built better than any other knife. You can find similar steel on other knives but it's not the same. I like the DLC coating on this blade because I generally like black blades but also, this coating lets you use the knife without scratching it easily and on an expensive knife you don't want scratches but you also still want to use the thing. A knife this expensive is not for everyone, some people can't understand buying the best when something almost as good can be had for only about 100 or 200 bucks. I have those knives too. I have many knives just as sharp that look just as good, but they just aren't the same animal. This is my fourth Rockstead knife and until you have had one in your hand, you can't understand what all the fuss is about. They just get everything so right. If you are a knife lover, you need at least one Rockstead in your collection. They don't make many so if you see one you like, you better grab it while you can. I waited 8 months for this one to be available. It is my favorite BTW, but if you like smaller knives, get the KOU, it's almost the same but smaller size and price. If you need to sell a few knives to buy one of these, do it. Rocketed is so worth owning and using.
