Extensive work with professional chefs has been done to develop a range of knives that give you comfort in the hand and the optimum cutting action. Each knife has been individually constructed for its specific task in food preparation. The handles and blades are set at the best angle to minimize fatigue.
Fully forged German DIN 1.4116 stainless steel, with a full tang for extra strength, each knife has been individually constructed for its specific task in food preparation to minimise fatigue. All Signature knives are gift boxed, have a lifetime guarantee and are dishwasher safe. Dishwashing, however, is not recommended to preserve the sharpness of the blade.
Robert Welch Designs is delighted to announce that its Signature kitchen knife range has won the 2012 Housewares Design Award (USA) in the cutlery category (kitchen knives). In 2010 the Signature knives were rated in the top 1% of all brand knives for initial sharpness and edge retention. Signature knives have also won the Excellence in Housewares ‘Cutting Edge' category for the third year running. The complete range of Signature knives and the knife block won the award in 2009. In 2010 the 8" (20 cm) cooks knife, the 6.5" (16 cm) flexible utility knife and the 4" (10 cm) vegetable knife have also been successful in the same category. In 2011 the 4.5" (12 cm) kitchen knife, 5.5" (14 cm) santoku knife, 6.5" (16 cm) cooks knife and 10" (25 cm) cooks knife also won the award.
The Signature knives have previously won an iF design award (Germany), the GOOD DESIGN award (from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design), a red dot design award (Germany) and a Gold accolade in the ‘Product of the Year' awards organized by Housewares and DIY magazine (UK).
