SAW119: Backcountry Axe
The Wetterlings Backcountry Axe is powerful and finely balanced axe. With its low weight and long handle the Backcountry Axe offers an increase in chopping power. Hand forged from Swedish Carbon specially alloyed steel. Edge hardness 57 RwC. Handles from American Hickory. Delivered with vegetable tanned, locally produced, leather sheath.
- 20" curved hickory handle
- 1.5 lb. Swedish carbon steel head
- 56-58 RwC
- Leather sheath included
- Made in Sweden
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.
