DescriptionSCCCSK2: Chris Caine "Signature" Survival Knife, Military SpecScorpion Knives
Chris Caine hasn't just learned how to survive, he's used his skills to live wild for 15 years! The Chris Caine Survival Knife was designed to both complement the larger Chris Caine Survival Tool and as a survival knife in its own right.
Producing this knife was a long hard process, as many prototypes were produced and thrown in the bin as they just didn't do what was needed, or they did the job but not as well as we wanted them to. After a lot of hard work, testing tweaking and patience we finally worked out the final design, one that is both aesthetically pleasing and practical for the jobs it has to tackle.
The blade of the Chris Caine Survival Knife has a convex grind for ease of maintenance, a strong durable edge and less resistance on the blade when used for such tasks as splitting wood and skinning large animals. This blade will cut just as well after years of use as it will when brand new.
The 3/16" (5 mm) thick blade provides excellent strength, weight and balance and the curve of the blade is shallow enough so as not to hinder tasks such as notching, whittling or feathering. The tip of the blade has been rounded off to allow for hitting with a baton with minimal damage to the blade, this also allows the user to gently beat fibers materials for the preparation of cordage with minimal damage to the fibers themselves.
The gently sweeping shape of the blade reduces the risk of injury as the cutting edge is slightly below the normal hand position on the handle. The full tang blade is finished with a fully profiled handle that has been gently angled back to give a more comfortable grip and ease of us, putting less strain on the wrist and making using this knife for prolonged periods far more comfortable. The scales are riveted onto the tang of the blade for a secure fit.
The Military Spec Survival Knife comes with a black Fluoralon coated blade, black Linen Micarta handle and Cordura sheath.
