Shhhhhh! Keep Quiet About This One…
…until I can pull together some more funds to buy a several more of these. First off, THIS IS: 8cr13MOV STAINLESS STEEL. Someone at KNIFECENTER please go read the back of the package, and put that info up under the product info. I am relieved. I was worried that it was 420J2, 3Cr, or recycled steel from the rusted body of a 1972 Chevy, Vega. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I love these 3” fixed blades. Handy/agile size for utility (ropes, boxes, plastics, light bush craft), but also excellent for anything from, bird ‘n’ trout, to, deer sized game. Great EDC fixed blade. Also, 3” is the size limit before a concealed knife becomes a, “dangerous weapon,” in my state (check your local knife laws). >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> What a nice Russ Kommer design, and what a great buy. Full tang, 1/8” thick, nice grind, but edge could use a dressing. I like the double jimping (file work) on the spine. Olive wood scales have a great feel in the hand. A handsome fixed blade, but not fancy, or flashy. It’s a real workman’s fixed blade. Beautiful leather sheath, too, (w/quick release snap). The unique sheath design can be worn vertically, or cross draw at your 10 o’clock, on up to a 1” belt (2” belt vertical carry). >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Just a heads up. I believe Timberline (part of Gatco Sharpeners) was sold to W.R. Case & Sons in Dec., 2016. I suspect these to be the last of Timberline/Great American Tool Co. made knives (although, Case may continue the name/product line, they will now, probably, be made of surgical steel ??? ; ). All these Timberline Knives, is offering, may have collectors’ potential. I suggest not just buying Timberline, Kommer Trophy 3” Drop Point Fixed Blade, but buy several. At this price, this handsome and handy fixed blade would make a great gift anyone would love to get their hands on.

Get One, maybe two
Thought I was going to get something with some flaws for the price, Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. Nice small sheath knife for those everyday chores, excellent fit and finish, no hot spots and fits my Large size hands perfectly. The wood is beautiful, even if both sides do not match exactly in color one only sees one side of a knife at once and the difference was not noticeable. The cuts on the blade back were perfect and grip well without being sharp and the set towards the end of the blade while unusual I can see how one could use that. Sharp right out of the box and the satin finish is great, very good quality all around and fits the hand well. Yes, wood can be a little slippery and more maintenance but I never felt it was too much and the good fit deals with the issue. Comes with a very nice leather sheath, and for the price, under $30, I would say you are getting an excellent deal with this knife and I intend to get another one with the stage handle, just because, might even pick up another wood handle one just because it is such a handy knife, especially for those that are not crazy about dealing with a folder and want something ready from the beginning. Buy One, you will like it, I know I will getting more.
