1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Bone Handles
Bone Handles
One of the most common natural materials used in knife making, bone handles are usually textured to provide grip and can be dyed almost any color.

Best skinning knife ever
I run a trapline in Alaska and this is my go-to skinning knife for everything from mink to lynx. The narrow blade design is far superior to any other muskrat design for delicate skinning work. It's the best knife I've ever owned for casing small to medium sized fur bearers and is excellent for turning lips and ears on larger animals like wolves, wolverines and bears. I can easily get it razor sharp and it holds an edge very well. I'm so impressed with it that I bought a second one.

Good knife
This is the second Kutmaster Muskrat I have owned. Gave the first to a young man that was pursuing a trapping hobby. For the money, this knife is excellent. I found the fit and finish very good---as good as a Case? No, but it's not a $70.00 knife, either. It is perfectly functional for my use as a coyote and bobcat skinner. After about 10 swipes on my Hunter Honer, the blades are scary sharp. The 'walk and talk' on this knife is very good, and the blades don't contact the brass liner upon closing as is sometimes found on budget knives. I would recommend this as a good knife to do small game and/or bird cleaning and skinning. I like the fact it is made in the USA. The shipping policy here is great, and I had my knife within 3 days of ordering. Great service!
