Utica Cutlery Company | Makers of Kutmaster Knives & Tools

1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Bone Handles
Bone Handles
One of the most common natural materials used in knife making, bone handles are usually textured to provide grip and can be dyed almost any color.

serpentine stockman
Medium serpentine stockman. The same size as a Schrade Uncle Henry serpentine stockman. I have a pre-1973 Schrade UH serpentine stockman for comparison. The Utica is thicker, the springs are not as strong and the finish is not as good. The Utica's finish is good with a few flaws. For the price it is a good buy and I bought it to replace the vintage Schrade as my EDC.

not likethe old folder
nice enough to put in the drawer. stainless steel folding knives are a poor choice. I wanted an old timer but would not buy from china. I guess this is what I deserve.

Catskill Prem. Stockman
Very good quality and value, size is perfect and three blades all serve different functions. My favorite knife.
