ZT0801: Model 0801
Zero Tolerance Knives
Zero Tolerance and custom knifemaker Todd Rexford join forces to produce the Zero Tolerance 0801. It starts with a blade of ELMAX powdered steel. ELMAX enables ZT to produce a blade with a razor edge, excellent edge retention, strength, and toughness. A stonewashed blade finish hides hard-use scratches and makes maintenance easier.

The 0801 handle is lightweight and durable titanium with machined grooves for a secure grip—and a great look. The titanium handle features a secure frame lock. The blade deploys using the built-in flipper. Just pull back on the flipper and the razor-sharp ELMAX blade rotates out of the handle on ZT's glass-smooth KVT ball-bearing system. No springs required; just simple, one-handed opening. Easy. The 0801 pocket clip is designed for deep carry and is reversible for left- or right-handed carry. Decorative pivot hardware completes the 0801's handsome look.

If you like the looks of all metal, all the time, the 0801 is the right choice.

Frame Lock
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Pocket Clip
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
Titanium Handles
Titanium Handles
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
Extremely fine grained powered metal that strikes the balance between edge holding and corrosion resistance perfectly. Much more likely to get a rolled edge than have a chip develop.

Pros: Handle Material, Handle Feel, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Ease of Opening, None
Decent knife; Difficult to open
Overall pretty good quality. It has a nice finish and a handle that feels good. I found that this knife is extremely difficult to open. The instructions noted that it may be a little stiff at first but would get better by opening and closing it a few times. I have done that a bunch of times and it is still difficult to open. It is difficult to the point that I often cannot get open with one hand. Extremely stiff. One feature I noted when buying the knife was a ball bearing hinge. Well, it doesn't work for me. I certainly expected something that would be easy to open with one hand, but this is not the case with this knife.

Cons: Handle Feel
Solid knife
Overall a great knife at a great price. It has a good weight, it's wicked sharp, and it has a pretty good overall feel. If there's one con it's that there isn't much grip to the handle when you're holding it but in everyday tasks it won't be slipping out of your hands. The flipping action is the best you could ask for in a production knife and I'm really impressed. Easily one of my top quality production knives.

Fantastic knife
This it my absolute favorite carry knife. It is rock solid and its action is buttery smooth. The one thing that I do not like is that the knife does not have a captured pivat screw. But it's nothing that blue removable loctite won't fix.
