Something different!
I bought this on a bit of a lark: I like knives, but I already have some excellent "standard" knives. This one looked different, and it is. I was surprised by how lightweight it is: it's in the specs, but still the photos had me expecting something bigger, and bulkier, and more of a chopper. This knife is on the smaller side, with a thin blade and very lightweight. I like the perfect symmetry of this knife: with its high carbon steel and full tang, it feels like it could be a good thrower. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what I will use it for, but I'll be testing that out this summer in Alaska-- I plan to carry this as my main daily carry, and see how it performs. The sheath is very nice, although there's no belt loop. At first I was figuring how to add one, but instead just adjusted my carry style and found I can tuck it into my belt no problem. Like everything about this knife, it's taking some adjusting on my part. The blade very nice: good high carbon steel, thin and flexible, and it came nice and sharp. The finishing seems top notch (which can be a concern for Condor). The leaf-shaped blade seems pretty versatile: the sharp point should be able to do some detail work, while the broad part can do a bit of chopping. The "belly" looks like it would be good for, say, slicing rope with a pull motion. Again, this is a different knife, and probably not for everyone, but I found myself impressed, and I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with it. I have a hunch I'll find this to be a very useful all around backwoods knife. For sure, it's a quality piece: rugged yet nimble and lightweight. Just a bit different than anything else I own.
