ZT0909: Model 0909 Folding Knife
Zero Tolerance Knives

Zero Tolerance and Les George have teamed up once again to create the ZT0909 tactical folder. Les went back to his roots in designing the 0909, basing it on his popular Talos, which, in turn, was a production version of Les' first custom knife, the FM-1. It might be Les' favorite of all his designs, and there are quite a number to choose from, because of the supreme ergonomics and his classic drop point blade shape.

Curves define the 0909. The rounded index finger contour, the machined scoops at mid-handle, and the deep arc leading to the blade tip all combine to give the 0909 its distinctive look. This heavy-duty powerhouse features premium materials like CPM-S35VN blade steel, G-10 handle scales, and extra-thick liners. The blade is nearly four-inches of S35VN stainless steel that's strong, wear resistant, corrosion resistant, and tough. This high-end steel ensures the user of a sharp, reliable edge that will last a long time.

The handle is built of machined G-10, contoured for sure grip and to reinforce Les' curved design concept. Strong, lightweight, and resistant to temperature changes, this glass-fiber material makes an ideal knife handle. To back the G-10 scales, ZT added extra-thick liners—like the ones found in their classic 0350 series. The beefy liners make the 0909 extremely stable and rigid, as well as providing a secure liner lock that holds the blade safely open during use. Finally, a reversible, deep-carry pocket clip allows the knife to ride comfortably low in the pocket for convenient everyday carry.

A REALLY GOOD KNIFE
NEVER OWNED A HI END PRODUCTION KNIFE. FIGURED WITH 66 YEARS UNDER MY BELT, IT WAS TIME. WHEN I FIRST OPENNED THE BOX, THE KNIFE FELT HEAVY. AFTER I OPENNED THE KNIFE THE WEIGHT WENT AWAY. THE BALANCE IS GREAT. THE HANDLE IS A PERFECT SIZE FOR MY SOMEWHAT LARGE HANDS. DUE TO ARTHRITIS IN MY HANDS OPENNING WAS A PROBLEM FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS. THIS IS IN NO WAY THE KNIFES FAULT. ONCE THINGS WORE IN THIS IS NO LONGER A PROBLEM. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS KNIFE TO ANYONE. I AM SO HAPPY I BOUGHT IT. IF YOU HAVE BEEN HESITATING ABOUT BUYING A GOOD KNIFE. THIS IS IT. LIFE IS SHORT, YOU'RE DEAD A LONG TIME.

BEST MANUAL FLIPPER I OWN !
I own quite a few knives, and a more than a few of them are manual flippers, and this one is the best I have seen. The detent is perfect! You're not shaking this one out. Just enough tension to flip it out from any position. Light switching it works best, but you can push button it if you try. My ZT 801 is almost as good, but can be a little picky about finger placement since it's a frame lock. The liner lock on the 909 might not be as strong as the frame lock on the 801, but you have to get it open to use it, and the 909 fires open every time. No blade play in an direction, shaving sharp out of the box, and while the handles don't have the grip that my Emerson's do,(what does ?)they still give a great grip and aren't as hard on the pocket. Feel in the hand is perfect for me. S35VN is my favorite steel because it's easy to sharpen and holds an edge for a while. This is one stout knife! While some may feel it's a bit heavy for EDC, it makes you feel like it will handle anything you can throw at it. The more I play with this knife, the more it's becoming my favorite knife. I can't find anything I don't like about it! I own knives a lot more expensive than this one but really can't think of one that I would have more confidence in. Thanks ZT for the great build and thanks to Knife Center for their as usual great service. Get one. You won't regret it.
