RPDPHSX003: DPx HEST 6 Milspec
DPx Gear

Introducing the DPx HEST 6 Milspec. A knife that is virtually indestructible even in the most demanding survival situations. Built to get you home alive, the DPx HEST 6 is your ticket out of adversity. It's the last survival knife you'll buy and is a hard working blade that is ideal for military and rugged outdoor pursuits. Ideal for both the demands of bushcraft and wilderness survival use, the HEST 6 Milspec also comes into play as a self defense weapon and edged tool.

Made to be hammered, abused, and stressed to its limits, the blade will stay razor sharp though extended use, requiring only minor strop. The ergonomic American G10 laminate handle scales with ergonomic grips conceal a cavity for fire starter, fishhooks, and other survival gear. The hollow handle gives the knife a forward balance point that makes cutting, chopping, and hacking less fatiguing.

The 6" sword-grind blade is machined from German Uddeholm Niolox niobium-enhanced stainless tool steel tempered to a Rockwell hardness index of 59. The ultimate combination of cutting tooth, strength and durability. The knife also features unique jimping on the spine and a striker / bone cracker / pry bar on the pommel.

The DPx HEST 6 Milspec comes in a black, MOLLE-compatible Cordura sheath with an extra storage compartment.

DPx Hest 6 Milspec
I picked one of these last week and decided to put it to some testing. First I checked that it could cut sheet paper and yes quite easily out of the box cut with razor precision. Next I got a thick cardboard box and proceeded to chop at the corners, once all 4 were chopped to bits I then took some swings at the sides and it went through like butter. After 50 chops and slices it still shaved paper. Next I went for the 2x4 and went at the corner with 50 chops against the grain and then with to chop off pieces, this didn't even mar the finish and still shaves paper. Next I took to stabbing the 2x4 till I got bored, no issues with the razor tip. I may do more testing but I am sold, this is a well made fighting knife that will hold up for a long time. The only thing I didn't like is the nylon sheath is really designed for right handed even though you can flip the insert for left the sewing is clearly for right, I will do. I'll be buying the heft razorback in the near future.

awesome knife...
feels good in the hand, and the weight just rite, just wish it came with a kydex sheath instead of the nylon, but it's still a good sheath, ought to be a superior survival knife....hope i don't have to use it for that, but you never know, but it will be on my pack.
