Kershaw Emerson CQC-4K BW
Kershaw and Emerson have joined forces on a series of knives that combine the precision engineering of Kershaw with Emerson's uncompromising functional designs.

The CQC-4K BW features a drop point blade for multi-purpose cutting capability. Black-oxide coating protects the blade and makes it non-reflective. A textured G10 front scale offers secure grip. The handle back is stainless steel with black-oxide coating. For a safe and solid blade lock up, the CQC-4K BW has a frame lock.

The CQC-4K BW is a manual opener using either the thumb disc or the patented Emerson "Wave Shaped Opening Feature." This opening feature enables the knife to be opened as it is removed from the pocket. By the time the knife has been fully withdrawn from the pocket, the blade is deployed and ready for use. A small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade is built to catch on the pocket seam, opening the knife as it comes out of the pocket. This instant-open feature is a favorite among military, rescue and law enforcement knife users.

Tactical Pen
The Kershaw Tactical Pen is a covert self-defense tool that can make a crucial difference when you need it most. It's is well-balanced and comfortable in your hand with a very smooth twist-action mechanism.

Knife Features
  • Manual - There is no mechanical assist, such as SpeedSafe, used to open the folding knife. It opens the classic, old-school way.
  • Frame Lock - A portion of the handle (the knife frame) moves behind the blade to lock it into position during use. This is a safety feature of the knife.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

Pros: Blade Material, Overall Quality, Ease of Opening, Weight, Blade Sharpness, Pocket Clip, Lock Type
Cons: None
Good edc knife
Bought this as a cheap edc pocket knife. Size is perfect, blade gets very sharp. I love the "wave" pocket thing, although it will often catch on my pocket when I'm not trying to use it that way. Nice to be able to switch the pocket clip for a lefty, but having one scale is different, I'd like it better if it had a scale on both sides of the handle. The pen is ok, solid and I suppose would do damage if you used it that way. All in all a nice package for the price.

Pros: Handle Feel, Weight, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Pocket Clip, None
Easy usage, sharp out of the box, and build quality is pretty good. I was looking for an EDC, that was inexpensive, good build quality, and nothing that would break the bank to replace if I lost it (I loose a lot of things ask my wife).
