Pros: Lock Type, Pocket Clip, Handle Feel, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Handle Material, Weight, Ease of Opening, Overall Quality
Cons: None
Comparable To My $240 ZT 0562CF!!!!
This action is smooth. I mean really smooth. When closing the knife and you get the blade past the detent, it just falls under its own weight. Put some Bluelube in the pivot and 3 in 1 oil on the blade and now it really glides. The blade makes up for a lot of the weight of this knife, and that weight swings the knife open with authority when deploying the blade. The flipper gives great finger protection and is comfortable to the touch with no rough gimping facing the wrong way. The handle is very ergonomic. I own 40 something knives and a wicked edge, and would consider myself somewhat of an expert. This knife is bang for your buck!!! At 80 dollars, this knife is comparable to several knives in the 200 plus range. The D2 steel in combo with the design and action make this one heck of a knife. No to mention that the blade geometry is superb. The spine and tip remain thick all the way down the knife. This thing doesn't mess around. I have though about getting another one because it is such a good deal. The only reason my Zero Tolerance knife is still better on the hands is that the liner lock in this knife takes some force to push over. This is because of a lack of a cutout for your thumb on the liner opposite the lock, but there is gimping on the liner lock so it isn't a big deal. Still plenty of grip, but it takes a somewhat tough hand. No girl hands for this one. Great knife overall.

Great knife, not a great clip.
Just got this knife. Great flipper action, good looking blade with nice balance. Contoured G10 handle fits the hand well, but Boker dropped the ball on the clip. Top of the clip sticks out in a way where it digs into the hand if you grip tightly. Overall very happy with my purchase, but will most likely carry with no clip.

Solid knife
I've been carrying a Rat 1 for years (fantastic knife) and finally decided for an upgrade when I saw the Boker Caracal. Loved the blade shape and G10 handles. Upon arrival the knife had some serious heft and a substantial blade compared to my old folder. After carrying the Boker for a while, I've fairly pleased with it. Once unclipped it deploys really fast with its flipper design but getting it off your pocket is pretty much impossible. Even with stiff canvas pants the clip really hangs on and make getting your knife out a real chore. Plus side you won't loose your knife! The other problem with the clip is that when holding and working with it, the large kick out on the metal clip really digs the meat of your hand, when your pushing down heavily in a carving situation. It's silly because Boker included some really nicely shaped scales with this knife, but with the big clip it's hard to tell what your hanging on to. When it's time to close the blade it's best to have a bit of a thumb nail to grab the liner lock, as it can be tough to find without digging your nail into it. Blade came super sharp and has been easy to touch up with a diamond rod. Overall a solid knife, just need to mod the clip possibly. Cuts like a champ!
