ESEE Knives
Since 1997 Randall's Adventure & Training has designed no-nonsense, affordable field knives specifically targeted to military, law enforcement, and the special operations community. Many of their knives now serve in combat zones around the globe. The knives have a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. ESEE Knives is also setting the standard for many local, state and federal law enforcement officers when it comes to high performance, compact sheath knives with multiple carry options. The NTOA scored the 3-inch fixed blade a 4.77 out of a possible 5. In addition to knives, ESEE also offers survival, land navigation, tracking and other training courses along with free survival information.

The ESEE-4 is one of the most popular ESEE knives ever made. With its 0.1875" blade thickness, it's the perfect blend between toughness and cutting efficiency all in a small package. If you can only choose one, then the ESEE-4 is the do-all workhorse of the ESEE line. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. The ESEE-4 is still a favorite amongst law enforcement and military teams due to its light weight, thin profile and various sheath options. The Modified Handle model is set up more for hunting and bushcrafting type tasks as it is equipped with a leather drop sheath.

ESEE-4s are shipped with a sheath instruction sheet (below) and Survival Business Card.

Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Micarta Handles
Micarta Handles
Micarta is a compressed layered composite sealed within a thermosetting plastic which creates a strong, attractive material that is impervious to water.

A New Knife With an Old Soul
ESEE Knives should really need no introduction at this point. For fans of their products, all I really need to say, is this is another serious knife from a serious company. The ESEE-4HM is a classic twist on the original ESEE-4. With a new, and in my personal opinion, improved handle design, this is one of those knives that you really just need to hold to fully appreciate. Even if you already own an ESEE-4, the ESEE-4HM is still absolutely worth picking up. If you happen to be looking into buying the original ESEE-4, I think I would honestly recommend this version of the knife instead; ESPECIALLY if your looking for a bushcraft knife. Last, but not least, the ESEE-4HM scores some serious bonus points, for it's very nice, very high quality leather sheath. All around good s*** ESEE !

The ESEE 4 for the woodsman...
Take the original ESEE 4, remove the choil, give it an extremely comfortable bushcraft type handle and a leather belt sheath and voila! You have a classic field/hunting/survival/bushcraft knife! The leather sheath is well made with excellent retention. . This is a stout sturdy companion for all of your outdoor adventures. I only wish they made an uncoated version. I am not a fan of low profile black powder coat finishes, as I don't have the military person's need for light discipline.
