ADVHUMCF: Hummer Flipper, Carbon Fiber Inlays
Andre De Villiers Knives
The Hummer is another superb, ergonomic flipper from Andre De Villiers. It's easy why people love AdV knives so much, besides the materials of course. The fitting, attention to detail, feel, action, and just overall looks are second to none. This Hummer is absolutely a knife that will highlight any collection or become your go-to carry piece, if not designated as a safe queen. The hollow ground drop point blade is made from satin finished S35VN that can be opened ultra-smoothly with either the jimped flipper or thumb hole. The handle is the same robust sort of shape as the Butcher design but is definitely more ergonomic with the finger grooves and it has small carbon fiber inlays strategically placed on the knife to accentuate the look. The pivot point, though, is what sets this knife and all AdV folders apart from others. It has an inset torx screw that fits inside the pivot, allowing you to tighten down the pivot while adjusting the centering or overall smoothness of the action. That action is very smooth to say the least. The pocket clip is made from milled titanium which provides a confident and secure carry in the pocket. When you think of mid-tech knives and the quality the designers strive for, this really is the epitome of overbuilt smoothness right here.

Frame Lock
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Pocket Clip
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.
Titanium Handles
Titanium Handles
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.

Cons: None
Never had a knife fit better in my hand!
Wow!! What a great knife/piece of art. Just received my hummer from Andre and it did not disappoint. Have owned multiple ADV knifes but this one is by far the grail of his collection. Fires with ease and lighting quick. Everything centers up perfectly, the blade is SHARP. The best thing about this blade is how it fits so comfortably in your hand, and the balance/weight is perfect! Well worth the money if your in this market!!!!

Cons: Ease of Opening, Overall Quality, None
Big, great looking knife but low tolerances on fit and finish. Blade not centered and rubbed against the inner frame creating scratches on the blade. Not acceptable for a knife in this price range. This is the second knife from this maker that I was not happy with. I will not buy another Andre De Villiers knife.
