SOG describes this item as follows:

Using the proven PowerLock chassis, SOG is the only company to apply Compound Leverage™ technology to EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal). This makes it a breeze to crimp blasting caps and demolition cord with less hand pressure. Another unique SOG feature is the positioning of the crimper device within the confines of the handle...not in the plier jaw, like all other designs. This serves to minimize collateral damage to the crimper and allows the operator to have full use of the uninterrupted plier surface. Additionally there is no weakening of the pliers that often causes breakage of the plier tips. The crimper produces non-flaring, high pull out strength crimps that meet government fuse well specifications. It is also GSA approved.

Another new feature is the addition of the V-Cutter. Use it to cut seat belts, paracord, fishing line, electrical cable sheathing and much more.

Compound Leverage™
Compound Leverage has become a SOG patented trademark for folding tools. With the same hand pressure you will generate twice the wire cutting and gripping power than all other conventional designs.

BEST MULTITOOL Made!
There are so many good things I can say about SOG, from the Special SOG gearing that increases the pressure on the Cutting blade and the Pliers, to the cover over the handle that keeps your hands from getting hurt when you exert pressure on the handle. One handed opening. to great tool selection. I have three member of my family in the service and deployed overseas. I have given each of them a SOG. I know the history well, I was a member of MACV-SOG Maritime. during my second tour of Nam. Wish we would have had a tool like this back in those days. Keep up the great work, you build and design the best, heads and shoulder above the competition. I broke the Pliers end off a GERBER Tool several years ago the first time I used it. I was working in Mongolia installing a communications system in the middle of no where. When I got back Gerber refused to honor the warranty, despite the fact you could clearly see the black spot where it broke. It was from poor quality metal (impurity) used when the part was poured into the mold. Never bought another Gerber after that. Then I discovered SOG. It was so much better than the GERBER or the Leatherman (I have had several of these tools as well). Sog is the best. I like the knife center, you find anything in your online catalog that has to do with Knives. Thank you Donald B

Good tool
This product is basically a good tool. It has a nice feel about it and the pliers will cut #8 wire, which is good in the field. They are well shaped for several types of gripping and probing. The cons are these: 1. The 2 covers on the arms spring off a bit too easily for my liking, due to a "snap" fastening rather than a through pin. Happens frequently - would not expect military selection of tool for this reason. Would have liked to have known this before buying. 2. Can-opener blunt. Was sharpened by me and now performs well. 3. Pivot screws for tools loose - had to tighten these. No big deal except that most purchasers may not have had the special screwdriver needed. But, it has performed well on tasks. So it gets 4 stars overall.
