Cold Steel

Now With U.S. Made Carpenter CTS XHP alloy blade steel featuring DLC coating, the Cold Steel Recon I series continues to set a standard for tactical folding knives that's hard to beat. These tough, dependable knives have been a mainstay in the world of tactical knives for many years, with a hard earned reputation for reliability and strength.

A popular knife with military and law enforcement personnel, fire and rescue crews as well as civilians who appreciate a hardworking, dependable tool for any occasion. Sharp as a scalpel and tough as a tank, the Recon series is available with 2, 3, 4, and 5-1/2 inch blades, and every facet of their construction has been over engineered to make them as strong, durable and effective as humanly possible.

These Cold Steel classics are thin, light, razor sharp and amazingly strong! Every model in this diverse series features the world renowned Tri-Ad lock, making them almost impervious to shock and keeping your precious fingers safe from harm when using your knife in even the most taxing conditions.

Cons: Lock Ease of Use, None
almost perfect!
My new edc blade. The only things I didn't like about my old recon 1 were the steel and the coating. This fixes both. The dlc coating obviously will stand up better than the garbage Teflon that cold steel normally uses. This knife is thin, light and as strong as the rest of the recon series. the length open is almost exactly the same as my Kershaw leek, its a little smaller than it appears in the picture so don't be surprised when you open it up and find a find a smallish knife. Lock is stiff as hell just like the rest of the tri ad locks but im sure it will loosen up with use. Lastly, it wasn't very sharp out of the box. This knife probably should be about 30 bucks cheaper but its still worth it if you love the recons and want the best iteration so far.
