Description
CS10ACNC: 10ACNC Counter Point 2
Cold Steel

Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson spent many years investigating the best features of high-end boot knives, and how best to apply them to a folder.

The Counter Point series represents the culmination of that extensive research and development.

Available in three blade sizes (3", 4" and 6"), their stiletto inspired spear point blades have a distinctively pronounced false edge and a lustrous satin finish, combining to make a blade that not only looks great but delivers a show stopping performance!

The expertly designed handle is lightweight, but incredibly strong. Made from Griv-Ex polymer and reinforced with heat treated aluminum liners, the handle is comfortable and secure in almost any grip imaginable.

For added strength and safety, Cold Steel has equipped the Counter Point with the Tri-Ad locking mechanism, proven to be one of the strongest locks in the industry today,

Strong, light, versatile, concealable and above all functional, the Counter Point series takes the best features of a quality boot knife and combines it with the ease of carrying of a high-performance folder.

It's both a functional and attractive EDC (Every Day Carry) knife and a steadfast resource in any rescue or emergency situation.

Bravo – Cold Steel
I’m not a big fan of boot knives. The steep flat, or convex primary grinds, terminating at the center of the width of the blade, makes them mostly unsuitable for good slicing mechanics. They are essentially, “pig stickers.” Since I don’t do a lot of pig stabbing, I’m not a WWII commando, or a Cold War spy, I don’t have much use for them. I have a few in my collection as examples (closet queens). >>>>> But, Cold Steel Pres. Lynn Thompson knows knives. He has created a practical boot knife with Counter Point 2 by giving the primary edge a deep hollow grind, so it actually slices like a knife, and making it into a concealable folder: Ingenious! >>>>> A little stiff opening, but it will work-in. Nice primary hollow grind. I like the 440C (carefree/affordable/holds edge fairly well). Arrived sharp, but could use a dressing. Grip is comfortable and adequate, though a little slick (rough it up). Lock functions well. >>>>> I don’t know if I’ll ever carry this knife. Spear point blades are not my preferred EDC. If you were going to carry this for tactical/defensive purposes I would recommend the 6” blade, as it more closely complies with Fairbairn-Sykes standards, and implications, thereof (3” blade legal in my State). But, Counter Point 2, with its nice hollow ground blade, can handle most EDC utilitarian duties with ease; and if you ever do run into a pig that needs stickin’, or a Russian spy that needs terminating, you’re there, Dude. ; )
