What a knife!
Having read about Cold Steel knives, I was excited to recieve the Recon Scout. It arrived and I wasn't disappointed - what a beast! I haven't field tested it yet, but it's very well made and extremely sharp!

Some of these low reviews are laughable...
Honestly, some of these reviews are laughable. One guy crying that his blade "lost" its edge (apparently he lacks the basic skill to sharpen a knife). The other winner is whining that the Recon Scout isn't as good as his Fallkniven NL2. No kidding, a $490 dollar knife will be better than one costing $250 dollars less...Seriously, its obvious some of these reviewers don't actually use their knives. I bought a Recon Scout twenty years ago, as a young Infantryman & have carried and used it ever since. In the Army, I used it for everything from clearing fields of fire, to prying stuck cartridges from M60s. The knife served me well in the jungle and in the desert. On the civilian side, I've processed both game and wood with this knife. I agree that there are some better knives available at this price point, but you won't go wrong with a Recon Scout.

Recon Scout
I used this knife when I was in the army. It is heavy, but when I put in the vest (yes, it might need some modification and its little bit tricky) it is very comfortable to carry. Sheat is very good and it's very secure. Blade is very sharp out of the box and it holds it well. I used it to wet conditions (good handle) and I left the blade often wet for a long time, but it still does not rust, even if I thought so. Overall, very good knife for the price! I like it much and I recommended it for all my friends.
