CAMJBSM325BRP: Customized JB Stout Megalodon 325, Brushed Bronze
Chaves American Made Knives

The Megalodon 325 from Chaves American Made Knives was designed by Jason JB Stout from Martin, Tennessee. Jason is a machinist/tool and die maker by trade but has always had a passion for edged weapons. He brilliantly combines the wealth of knowledge of his trade and his personal style to construct some truly great designs for tactical everyday carry. JB and Ramon have teamed up to bring out this mid-tech folder with clean lines and a truly custom feel.

The Megalodon 325 is a compact everyday carry powerhouse of a knife. It has the gorgeous look you are accustomed to seeing from JB with the overbuilt confidence a Ramon Chavez knife brings you. The 3.25" hybrid drop point/tanto blade is wicked awesome, made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel with a full length fuller and thumb slot opening method. The blade rides on caged ball bearings and Ramon suggests you use the middle finger flick from below for the fastest and smoothest action. The handle of this customized model is made from two 0.15" thick slabs of 6Al-4V titanium with chamfered edges and a two-tone bronze anodized finish. The pocket clip and edges are matte finished while the flats have a brushed finish. It's definitely comfortable to use, even when gripping hard, and the finger guard prevents you from sliding forward onto that gorgeous blade. It is a flow-through design with a milled titanium pocket clip and slim profile, making it a very discrete carry. Ramon Chavez knives and JB Stout designs are highly sought after and after handling this Megalodon 325, we can definitely see why.

Semi-Custom
Semi-Custom
Semi-Custom or Mid-Tech knives are knives produced by a process in which the designer has more direct--but not complete--involvement; parts of these knives may still have been made by others.
Frame Lock
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Pocket Clip
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
S35VN
S35VN
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.
Titanium Handles
Titanium Handles
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.

Additional feature not mentioned
The body of the knife has a milled out slot that ends where the pocket clip comes in contact with it. If you're wearing pants with a double sewn seam on the top of the pocket this serves to lock the knife to your pocket. In order to remove the knife from your pocket you must "open" the lock with the tip of your finger to provide enough space to free it from the seam. It would be very difficult for someone standing behind or to the side to remove the knife from your pocket. This is a very nice and well thought out feature on a knife with an already excellent design.
