Description
CS22BT: 22BT Black Talon II
Cold Steel

The original "Black Talon" was a revolutionary knife in many ways. Handmade and limited edition, it featuring a modified curved talon blade* made from Japanese San Mai steel, a sleek titanium frame with G10 scales and - for its time - a very strong locking mechanism.

Cold Steel fans have been clamoring for them to bring back this classic and iconic blade, and now we are proud to announce a redesigned knife that we have christened the Black Talon II!

A design collaboration between Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson and custom knife-maker Andrew Demko, the Black Talon II is a modern masterpiece!

Its sinuously curved, needle sharp blade still features the distinctive down-swept point and pronounced belly of the original, but with high end American XHP super-steel and a redesigned tip for additional strength and durability.

The textured premium USA G10 scales offer maximum retention and grip even in cold or wet conditions while still being kind on your clothing when drawn from the pocket.

The contrast between the deep black of the scales and the exquisite rich satin polished blade further emphasize the flair and style of this good-looking and elegant folder.

Featuring our high performance Tri-Ad locking mechanism for added safety and strength, this thin, lightweight and eye-catching knife is sure to be the talking point of anyone's collection!

CS Black Talon II better than SC Civilian
The knife was delivered in three days! As I inspected every square inch of this knife, it comes as close to perfect a I could imagine. I compared it to the $177.00 Spyderco Civilian. The Black Talon has an infinitely stronger lock, (IMO) a stronger, more formidable blade, and has a heaviness that is not overly heavy, but lets one know they have real protection in their hand. This Black Talon is SCREAMING sharp. It is so rugged, and solid, and truly bespeaks quality. If I had tried this one first, I never would have purchased the SC. It does not deploy as fast, but it will break in. I used a little AMSOIL on it, and now she opens perfectly. Comparatively, it just feels so much more solid than the Civilian, and the feel in my hand is precisely what I wanted, and would expect for self defense. You'll save over $60.00 by purchasing the Black Talon over the Civilian, and quite frankly, it's MUCH easier to sharpen. The Civilian requires a tedious amount of time, and preferably, a professional to sharpen her. The CS BlackTalon can be sharpened much easier, and quicker at home. Any use of the Civilian will SOON require sharpening which takes it out of your hands, and is pricey to perform. I give the BlackTalon 5 Stars, and wish I could give more. If you do not care for the speed of opening of the BT, work it in, add a wee bit of full synthetic oil to the joints, and you will be most pleased! It opens "okay" from the box,but will take time to achieve that "Lightning Quick" speed most desire.

Scary sharp
I've worked with knives all my life. Worked on a farm, in construction, and a cook. I have carried a knife every day of my life. This knife was one of a very few that when I hand it to some one the first thing I say is "be VERY careful, it's sharp as fak". It opens with the "wave" feature beautifully. Holds an edge well, and cuts like I wish every knife I owned would. Definitely another cold steel that goes well beyond what I expected

Homerun
One thing I've learned over the years. It's hard to go wrong w/a Cold Steel purchase. Typical of all CS blades, it is ridiculously sharp from the box. With a little tensioning adjustment of the clip it waves open w/ease. The slashing/cutting power of this blade design is shocking. Impressive is an understatement.
