Kershaw Knives
Get a dark tactical look with the Launch 6 automatic knife from Kershaw.

This slim—and ever-so-slightly wicked-looking—knife features premium CPM-154 blade steel. This powdered metallurgy steel offers more uniform distribution of carbides so it takes and holds an excellent edge. It also provides good corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and toughness. Black DLC coating adds non-reflectivity and enhances performance.

Durable anodized aluminum handles lighten the Launch 6's weight and Kershaw machines them to provide a secure grip. This automatic knife opens with a recessed push button. Kershaw made the button level with the flat of the handle as a safety feature that makes it harder for the knives to accidentally deploy. Left-handers can use an index finger instead of the thumb to press the blade-release/lock button. The Launch 6 also has a reversible pocket clip and a pre-drilled lanyard tie-off hole.
  • Push-Button Lock - Found on the Kershaw Folding Saw, It locks the saw blade open during use, then releases with the push of a button.
  • Made In The USA - When you see this on one of our knives, it means the knife was made in our Tualatin, Oregon manufacturing facility by skilled Kershaw knifemakers.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

Blade Bounce
Very nice knife, I'm very impressed with fit and finish. One small issue though is that the blade doesn't always lock when fired. It opens so quickly that it often hits the blade stop and bounces back slightly before you can release the button. I disassembled the knife to see just how hard it would be to re-clock the spring to keep tension through the entire blade travel, then quickly determined that was more than I wanted to do and I reassembled the knife. I tightened the center pivot screw just a bit more than it was at the factory and that seems to provide just enough drag to get the blade to lock open every time without bouncing. I've fired it a few hundred times since then and I can't get it to fail to lock unless there is an obstacle preventing blade travel. So, to everyone complaining of bounce, just get you a t6 torx and tighten the pivot ever so slightly.

Has a problem
I received one of these yesterday. It's a beautiful knife but...on about one in five opens the blade doesn't lock. After some experimenting the problem seems to occur more frequently when holding the knife tightly vs holding it a little loosely during the open. This tells me that the problem is occurring due to bouncing back from the open position before the locking mechanism can engage (all of this taking place in milliseconds). Has anyone else noticed this and is there a fix? I did see a review elsewhere of someone stating the same problem.
