CS10ACLC: 10ACLC Counter Point 1
Cold Steel
Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson spent many years investigating the best features of high-end boot knives, and how best to apply them to a folder.

The Counter Point series represents the culmination of that extensive research and development.

Available in three blade sizes (3", 4" and 6"), their stiletto inspired spear point blades have a distinctively pronounced false edge and a lustrous satin finish, combining to make a blade that not only looks great, but delivers a show stopping performance!

Made from American CTS BD1 Alloy Steel, the Counter Point is highly corrosion and stain resistant and takes a very sharp, and durable edge.

The expertly designed handle is lightweight, but incredibly strong. Made from Griv-Ex polymer and reinforced with heat treated aluminum liners, the handle is comfortable and secure in almost any grip imaginable.

For added strength and safety, Cold Steel has equipped the Counter Point with the Tri-Ad locking mechanism, proven to be one of the strongest lock in the industry today,

Strong, light, versatile, concealable and above all functional, the Counter Point series takes the best features of a quality boot knife and combines it with the ease of carry of a high performance folder.

It's both a functional and attractive EDC (Every Day Carry) knife and a steadfast resource in any rescue or emergency situation.

Surprisingly practical design
This is my first Cold Steel with the CTS BD1 steel (all the others were AUS 8a). It arrived late yesterday, so I haven't had the chance to cut much with it, but it came hair-catching sharp. I liked the design regardless, so I wasn't too concerned about the practicality when ordering. However, now that it's "in hand," the balance and ergos (for my XXL hand) are at least equal to my other 4" general-purpose CS models (Hold Out, Talwar, Voyager). Nice job on the sharkskin textured Grivory scales.

A Quality EDC from Cold Steel
Just received my Cold Steel CounterPoint 1 pocket folder, and I am impressed. Always trying to experiment with different knife styles for EDC, this one is about perfect. The contoured handle design fits my hand perfectly, and the Griv-Ex handle material is smooth, and will not ware away your pocket fabric. The use of newer steel formulas always interests me, and more info on the CTS-BD1 steel used in this knife can be found on www.alphaknifesupply.com/info/steel/CTSBD1, or on the manufacture's (Carpenter) website at www.cartech.com. The pocket clip is ambidextrous-adjustable and very strong, you will not lose this knife with pocket carry, although it will impede on a fast pocket draw in an emergency. The blade lock is solid, the blade style and sharpness out of the box is awesome. The overall fit and finish is excellent, and is what you'd expect from Cold Steel. I plan to purchase this knife in it's other blade length's (3 and 6 inch) soon, but the 4 inch version seems ideal. Another fine offering from the folks at KnifeCenter!

Cons: Ease of Opening
No-nonsense all business EDC knife
This, in my opinion, an optimal pocket knife for every day carry (EDC). The handle allows for a correct grip right out of the pocket, the blade shape is the one recommended by Rex Applegate himself (the only difference that it's 2 in. shorter). Steel is holding edge superbly so far and is, evidently, rust-proof. Weight and dimensions allow for a comfortable concealed carry at 5pm o'clock position (similar to IWB pistol holsters). Clip is strong enough to prevent accidental loss of a knife. The lock is superb to any folder lock that I have seen and tried - has no play and positively locks in place. The only point that would require some training is quick opening - the size of the blade and the opening screw make it a bit hard without extensive practice. Would definitely recommend the knife to anyone interested in a functional, ergonomic and no-nonsense all business EDC knife.
