Part #: BM698 | Benchmade Knives
Description
BM698: 698 Foray, Satin Plain
Benchmade

Much like its popular predecessor, the 698 Foray offers gent-styling in a larger overall profile, translating to improved handling and all-around utility. The G10 handles are extremely durable, impervious to moisture or liquid and physically stable under climate change.

AXIS Lock

A patented Benchmade exclusive, AXIS has been turning heads and winning fans ever since its introduction. A 100 percent ambidextrous design, AXIS gets its function from a small, hardened steel bar that rides forward and back in a slot machined into both steel liners. The bar extends to both sides of the knife, spans the liners and is positioned over the rear of the blade. It engages a ramped tang portion of the knife blade when it is opened. Two omega-style springs, one on each liner, give the locking bar its inertia to engage the knife tang. As a result, the tang is wedged solidly between a sizable stop pin and the AXIS bar itself.

This is an awesome knife
This is the best knife I have owned, first high end knife and I'm loving it. Looks and feels great, sits in the hand perfectly, i have cut rope, boxes, wrapping paper and bottles. Trying to keep it looking good but this thing works so well it's impossible not to want to cut things and is great to have in your pocket. The blade has a slight recurve to consider for sharpening. The pocket clasp is very easy to use, feels secure and looks schmick! The blade action loosened up since buying but i would like to have a go at loosening it up a micro fraction more. As above post mentioned though, i'm worried it would get some blade wobble which i would not be ok with. The first knife I looked at in the store the blade was off centre so check for that. This one is nice, love the g10 grip, i had the knife on my lap and it dropped and ski'd across rough concrete, only two tiny chips which after putting some oil on are now virtually invisible. The blade is thick and heavy which I like because it feels quality and functional. Looks really good. Looks like machining lines as the finish on the blade which I think looks good. Same on the cutting edge too. Would love to know more about the finishing process used. Overall love this thing

This is a good piece of steele
This is the best knife I have owned. Others include a swiss army knife and a chefs knife. But this knife is beautiful. I use it for looking at, cutting rope, boxes, wrapping paper, bottles. Trying to keep it looking good but this thing works good too and is great to have in your pocket. The clasp is awesome. The action loosened up since buying but i would like to have a go at loosening it up a micro fraction more. First one I looked at the blade was off centre so check for that. This one is nice I got tthe g10 grip. The blade is thick and heavy which I like because it feels quality and functional. Looks neat

PULL THE TRIGGER!
Besides the 940, this is hands down the best Benchmade I have ever put my hands on. I feel it doesn't get the credit it deserves. The blade is thick, 20cv steel, beautiful knife. Feels perfect in hand. Hefty yet not too heavy. Listen not to the 3 star review. It doesn't cut your hand that's pure nonsense. Any knife will bite you if you try hard enough. Once tightened with loctite, blade play is nonexistent. Killer knife. If your thinking about getting it...do it. Its absolute perfection!!!
