ZT0566BW: ZT0566BW Hinderer & ZT Collaboration
Zero Tolerance Knives

An EDC-perfect ZT, now in Blackwash.

You wanted to see the 0566 in BlackWash and ZT is happy to oblige. Here it is with the finish that gives it the look of a favorite pair of well-worn jeans. But don’t let the look fool you. This is a piece of precision machinery.

The blade is pure ELMAX powdered steel. With almost no impurities in the steel, the 0566BW's blade can be sharpened to hair-popping levels—and also offers excellent edge retention, strength, and toughness. And with the BlackWash finish, the 0566BW's has a discrete, matte look.

For a secure grip, the front scale is textured G-10. The back is all stainless steel with a sturdy frame lock and lockbar stabilizer. The 0566BW offers Zero Tolerance's quad-mounting system so users can choose tip-up/tip-down, left- or right-handed carry. And because it's a deep-carry clip, the knife will sit comfortably down in the pocket.

Designed by Rick Hinderer and built tough by Zero Tolerance, the 0566BW is built for pure performance in an EDC-perfect size.

Superb knife
I've been carrying around an Emerson Super CQC-7 for 7 years now; a very similar knife in many respects, such as price, handle and blade size and a titanium lock. I just recently purchased this 0560 BW, and the quality is on a whole other level, it is easily the best pocket knife I've ever held for many reasons. This knife just exudes quality in all the right ways. The lockup is super tight, there is no blade play in any direction. I was worried about titanium on steel in this frame lock, as with the CQC-7; the lock wears away. These come with a steel lock liner which is a great addition, and will keep the frame lock in tact. For the brief amount of time I've had this blade, the Elmax steel is very sharp and is holding its edge very well so far. The ergonomics are extremely good on this knife, much better than the CQC-7 I'm comparing this to. It just feels very good to hold, and it stays secure in traditional or upside down positions. I've seen that some people have trouble with the thumb studs on this knife, but I imagine it's because they are trying to apply pressure to the blade at a 90 degree angle. If you apply pressure to the thumb stud at about 170 degree angle, it's actuates no problem, and is a viable actuating mechanism apart from the flipper action. My eye was never really caught on Zero Tolerance knives, but the fact that this is a Hinderer Design made me look, and it truly is a beautiful knife. I would recommend this blade to anyone. There's no real reason to not love this blade if you held it in your hand. If you've never really been a fan of ZT knives, this one will change your opinion without a doubt, it's an extremely nice knife.

Definitely a user's knife
I've had this knife for several months now. I dislike when people write reviews the same day they receive the knife. First impressions since it was my first zt is that it's no joke & when they say built like a tank they mean it. Solid lock up, blade centering, ergonomics, everything. Still to this day I enjoy it as the day I bought it. The ELMAX is great but could be a pain for beginner sharpeners. I got the bw as my brother got the plain. I mention this as one of my two complaints is that the liner on the g10 side isnt blackwashed. Didn't notice it at first but since I did that's all I notice. Just wished they would've matched the color. Second complaint is the assist. I removed the spring and love it 10 times more. It's still just as smooth and the thumb studs aren't useless. I love being able to use the studs or the flipper. Excellent choice for a smaller edc than the 560.love the deep carry pocket clip except a screw on mine was stuck after bending the clip so I had to use a pair of needle nose to get it out.

EDC needed an upgrade. "Built like a tank" is no gimmick, mine is perfect. From the centering when closed, to the grinds, and the lock-up, this thing is solid. Open frame with spacers means I'll need a new pocket for my keys but, who cares? Fine factory edge that is tougher than you'd expect. (Thanks to Elmax). I can't wait for my next ZT, and Knife Center ships crazy fast with free shipping over $95! I'll be getting blades here for a long time.
