BM62T: 62T Bali-Song Trainer, Stainless Steel Handles with T-Latch
Introducing the Benchmade Model 62T Trainer - the safe and stylish companion to the classic 62 Balisong. You can practice flipping, aerials, twirls, and all the other moves without fear of dropping and damaging the live blade or slicing into your fingers. The 62T features a red Cerakoted 440C unsharpened blade paired with the same machined stainless steel handles and T-latch lock found on the live Model 62. The blade length, weight, and action are identical to the real thing so if you've got a 62 and don't want to damage it while playing with it, this is your knife.

About the Model 62

The best is born of history and tradition or as is the case with the Benchmade 62 Bali-Song, reborn. For us, the best began with the Bali-Song, the butterfly knife awesome in its simplicity, the ultimate example of form following function. And now we retrace those steps with the Model 62 with its numerous appreciable improvements. For starters, the Wee-hawk style blade is secured to the handles with screw-head pivot-pins, making the possibility of changing out blades a reality, and the pins are heat-treated and larger than previous ones. The handle latch uses a torx-head pivot-pin attachment as well, so it may be removed if preferred. Another nice feature is the skeletonized cast stainless steel handles which are very tough and weighted for better balance. The handles feature a T-latch lock with more pronounced contour for improved grip. As for the blade itself, we've extended the false edge farther back up the blade as was done on the traditional Wee-hawk designs. So if you're already a Bali-Song fan from way back, you'll definitely be pleased with the Model 62. Or if you're just looking for the ultimate in basic form and simple function-this is it.

Not Impressed For $$$
I love Benchmade I have an old PCC 3" blade, 42, 46, 41SS, Morpho 51, Morpho 32, Bradley Mayhem. While this trainer is far far better than others I have tried for $30 or so. I was very disappointed. But I'm a fan of the 42 so they've gone backwards in my opinion. The balisong is heavy, which is to be expected with steel, but my 41SS is steel and I feel it flips better. Stays on my finger a better for chaplins/rollovers. Just feels smoother and a little better balanced. Oh and just to mention if someone is coming from 4x, the handles aren't channeled, which doesn't bother me, but again made me question $$$ The latch is annoying, the latch on the 4x were really nice, and I love the latch on the Morpho 51, best latch by far I've come across. I was really annoyed for over $200 the latch was just a standard T with no spring. Basically I think its worth $100-$150. But I end up just taping my blades with electrical tape, while my trainer sits in the drawer. Everyone once in a while I enjoy flipping a heavier BM but I normally go to my 41SS.

You can always count on a Benchmade
I absolutely love this trainer. It flips easy and smooth. The heavy weight makes it easy to learn new tricks. If you're looking for a good quality balisong trainer look no further. The Benchmade model 62T is all you need. The only con is that the hardware isn't loctited. So keep an eye on the screws or just use some blue loctite I have never been disappointed by a Benchmade knife, I will always be a fan of there products
