Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Zytel Handles
Zytel Handles
A nylon polymer that is lightweight and extremely durable, Zytel can be shaped and textured to provide excellent grip.

Love It!!!
I have actually owned mine for about 12 or 13 years. I've used it camping. Mostly chopping branches. From 1" up to prob 5" on occasion. I've used it to strip bark from branches for kindling and even had to use it to clean fish when there was no filleting knife around. I also wear in when going on hikes and just going on walks with the family as another form of protection. It feels great in my hand and in my opinion a beautiful tool. Before I purchased my Bowie I was looking for another Bowie because my favorite blade style happens to be the Bowie knife. Then I saw it and read the specs and had to have it. I'm glad I did. Been using ever since. Also keeps an edge very well even with regular use.

Faithful Companion
This is a knife that is made for heavy use (not abuse) A large knife that can perform basic carving task as well. I had to adjust the grind of the blade at the handle a little for carving although the factory edge is good for chopping and batoning. The sheath is...., well, ok. Functional, although my personal preference would have been a sheath of the same materials without the slit on top. The edge on the guard is a bit too sharp for my liking but I can live with it. The overall quality of the manufacturing and the materials that was used is of a high standard for the price category and this is a knife that can be a faithful companion.
