        Excellent Classic folder.
This is one of those knives that you just cannot go wrong with. It is a proven Benchmade classic. It is my personal favorite. It feels great in the hand. The blade length while a little long for EDC for some to me is just perfect. The re curve in the blade is great for slicing. I love the looks. The fit and finish is great. With Benchmades AxIs lock the blade is super easy to deploy. It will be there when you need it. Be aware D2 steel can be difficult to sharpen. However once sharp will hold it's edge for a long time. Plus with Benchmades Lifesharp sharpening service you have somebody who will sharpen your knife for a small $5 fee. And that is just to help cover shipping costs. Buy this knife with confidence.

Benchmade.... Axis lock... D2 toolsteel..... G10 handles.....this knife is awesome one of my favorite knives..... HOWEVER this knife isnt for everybody...... due to the high levels of carbon in D2 this knifes edge will stay sharp for a long time BUT it wont be easy to sharpen and maintain.. benchmade will resharpen it for you if you send it too them. but if your like me you dont really like sending out knives

        Excellent Product/Another Benchmade Winner
This was actually a gift from my fiancée for my birthday. She knows I like me some knives. LOL This is my 8th Benchmade and it definitely stacks up to the high regard in which I hold these knives. D2 steel and a classic styling makes the 710 my new favorite carry knife. Can't wait to get my hands on a few more! :)

        Simply the best
Despite knowing the specs, I was surprised by the size and weight of this knife. After carrying it a few times, my three-inch Osbourne now looks and feels too small to me by comparison. This will be my EDC and I'll reserve the Osbourne for when I'm wearing lightweight gym clothes that the McHenry might cause to sag. In a normal pocket I soon forget it's there. By the way, it slices tomatoes thinner than the kitchen tomato knife and seems perfectly shaped for dressing out large game.

        Great knife!
I have many pocket knives, and what I like about this is the D2 blade and the axis lock. The lock is secure and requires a deliberate motion to disengage it. The clip is strong. I have the same clip on a Presidio that I have worn every day for the last couple of years. It's been great the whole time. Other clips get much looser over time. My only wish would be to have a model that would be just a touch smaller using the D2 tool steel. Then again, if it weren't for the continual search for the perfect pocket knife.... what would I do with myself?

This one I got cause I lost my original that I had bought in 99 which had the 154 steel and so far the D2 isn't dissapointing I use it for everything and its original edge is still as good as I got it (shaving edge). Its light and well balanced.

        Lifetime EDC
I bought this knife becasue I wanted a knife that would last me for ages sa a lifetime EDC. I have no intention to abuse it, but I want something I can still use in 20 year's time. This knife is a big spend for me, so I hope it proves to be worth it. The blade is set a bit skew in the handle when closed and although it probably does not matter, it should really have been centered properly. Such a simple thing for Benchmade to get correct: minus half a star. The only other thing I think could have been done better is to have a slight concave section close to the thumb stud to make it a bit easier to flick out with the bottom of my thumb (I'm a finger nail biter!) Minus another half a star. Other than these two very minor issues, I'm pleased with my purchase.

        Great knife great price
I am a huge spyderco fan and decided to get a benchmade just to diversify my collection an I have I say I am really happy with this knife. The blade ships super sharp, the axis lock works perfectly and the grip of the handle is good. If you have never bought a benchmade but are interested in seeing what they have to offer this is a great purchase.

Best All Around Folder I've Owned
The McHenry & Williams is the best overall folder I own. I have other excellent quality knives, both fixed and folding, but if I had to choose to have only one, this would be it. My ZT's are a close second, but the additional weight can present an obstacle in some situations. The blade is of high quality and the entire knife has a solid feel, sharp edge (easily sharpened), and a very secure opening mechanism and lock.

        Great larger knife
I carry a Benchmade 707 (Sequel) most days. thought I'd like to try a larger knife that has the same positive qualities. The 710 fits that bill. I really like the AXIS lock system. The D2 steel holds an edge well. The knife fits my hand. I removed the clip from the 707 and carry it in my pocket, the 710 will need to be clipped on as it is too big for pocket carry. Very nice knife, solid lock-up, substantial without being too big or imposing.

As usual, this Benchmade is fantastic quality. Every Benchmade I own is a piece of incredible art. Tolerances are amazingly close, sharpness of the blade right out of the box is great. Benchmade is making some really great knives. I buy one for my grandson at every significant event in his life. By the time he is old enough to appreciate them he will have a fantastic collection of Benchmade knives.

The best out-of-the-box Benchmade I've owned
Probably the sharpest out of the box of any folding knife I've purchased...lock-up is extremely solid, no lateral/vertical play whatsoever. I'm a full-time Deputy Sheriff and carry it daily. My only (and extremely minor)complaint is that opening was a little hard initially, but a good lube and about 40-50 openings took care of that.

        Best Knife I own
My first Benchmade and first knife with D2 steel. Out of the box the blade was pretty sharp, touched it up a little with a stone and it was scary sharp. Skinned and cleaned about 75 lbs. of catfish and it was still sharp when I got done, my other knife, with ATS34 blade, I would always have to re-sharpen half way through. Good handle shape, easy to grip. Pocket clip is very stiff and is easy to scratch up like other reviews say, but I don't care, I'am not a mall ninja, just a Alabama HillBilly

Wow that's a fantastic assisted mechanism.
The best is the blade design of McHenry and Williams. Perfect for everyday hard work and satin smooth so the office staff doesn't have blade a phobia. I enjoy the smooth assisted opener with a solid locking mechanism. The only thing I will grind on is the over developed clip entry that is made for Action Jackson or GI Joe. I prefer less angle so my not so svelte backside is comfy.

        GET SOME!
This knife rules! Fit and finish are great! For the size it's really not that heavy or hard to handle. Rides nice in the pocket and the deployment is wicked smooth/fast. The blade shape is great for just about anything. The recurve makes it good for cutting through material but the tip and slinder blade make it great for puncturing. This is my first D2 knife and so far I really like the steel. All in all a great knife. Benchmades website indicated that this was discontinued, so, better get'em while they last. Great for edc or tactical/defense.

Everyday use, EDC, light outdoors, indoor use also. Love everything, really, sharpened it myself, though it was very sharp out of the box, don't listen to negativity regarding the handles, incredible sturdy feel to this knife, and the handles are incredibly grippy, clip is set just right. Quick opening with thumb studs, they also aren't "too small" as some say. My 710 came just slightly stiff feeling at the pivot screw, but not overly so, feels sturdy as hell. Love it. Everyone who picks it up goes, wow, this thing feels like an incredible blade.

Simply one of the best knives BM has ever made, all things about it are functional, correct, extremely well proportioned, works well in all uses where a folder is useful. A classic, timeless design, use it for a month and you will agree. Many other good knives out there, this i on a par with the Spyderco Military which i also carry around the property and barns, both very good designs and build outs. The BM is a great value, if the best best value out there at the top. For the money its a great knife in all ways. Acid

        PERFECT !!!
the D2 steel makes for the sharpest teeth on any edge you can name. the handle is perfect in form and function. AXIS lock superb, incredibly light for a 4 inch blade. nice in the pocket (barely noticeable) the only con is that steel is not very corrosion resistant, its the only thing keeping this knife from being the only knife you'll ever need.

        Ideal EDC/Tactical
I am not a huge Benchmade fan. I must say that the quality of other blue and black class knives has went down hill over the last decade or so, but the 710 remains perfect. Mine arrived with no defects; except a pivot pin that occasionally needs tightening, but otherwise great. The design of this knife makes it great as an EDC or tactical partner. The size is perfect-not too big and not too small. The pocket clip is the best that I've seen on any of the mainstream higher-end folding production tacticals out there. The painted finish will wear off the clip, but the size and strength is ideal. D-2 is a wonderfully durable steel that you can trust for a lifetime to serve you faithfully- IF you maintain it occasionally; especially after exposure to moisture. The axis lock is strong and fast to disengage. I love the texture of the g-10 on this handle, yeah, it's not too grippy, but it feels nice in the hand and I find the traction to be significant. This knife is faster and stronger than most non-OTF autos. This is an ideal knife for a cop, military member, civilian concerned with self defense, outdoorsman...ANYONE who needs a knife. A sheath included would be nice, but not entirely necessary. It came rather dull, but sharp enough for my intended use for it should the situation arise.

        Benchmade 710: Heavy Duty Perfection
Very pleased with the D2 steel, holds an edge longer than 154CM but is much harder to sharpen. Improve your sharpening skills and your in great shape. The knife has thick skeletized liners, and the much loved Axis Lock that provides a bombproof lockup. Deployment of the blade gets faster as you use it, out of the box it seems slow. Deploy the blade about a hundred times and it becomes super fast. Overall a great knife, you will not be disapointed.

        Great knife
I'm basically a collector, but some of my knives I use for everyday tasks. This is a good example of a beautiful knife that has a nice place in my showcase. It's exactly what I expected from it. I really like the look and feel of the blade (nice D2 steel) and the shape. It is also my first Axis-loxk knife and I'm very happy with this system as well. Lesser items are the little bag in which it comes, but that is of minor importance due to the fact it is in my showcase. Also the handle (which looks great) doesn't fit my hand as well as I hoped. I'm all together very happy with this purchase and would recommend this knife to anyone!

Great Knife, Sleek for its blade size
Great Knife from Benchmade and McHenry&Williams! It's my first knife in D2, and I am impressed. I use it for everything, cutting paper and cardboard, opening packages and envelopes, cutting string, heavy duty plastic box straps, cutting into the occasional snack, etc. and it holds it's edge! It was shaving arm hair sharp out of the box, but not quite as sharp as every other Benchmade that I purchased. Good thing it was an easy touch up on my Spyderco Sharpmaker to get it where I wanted it. I liked it so much I just ordered what I think is the 710's little brother, the Benchmade 707 Sequel!

Beautiful knife, D2 tool steel isn't that high in corrosion resistance but it retains a knife edge very well. Only drawbacks are that it almost requires a diamond stone to sharpen. Axis lock works awesome, hand is never in the movement of the blade. Belt clip feels natural in hand and is reversible. Great quality, good for edc, cqc.

        Great Reliable Design
Through the years the BM710 is still one of the best Tactical Folder around. SSS! Slim, Sexy and Smooth ! (Please notice the picture on he Blade Forum: this is one of the early proto/preproduction BM710. You can notice how far on the blade the opening stud is fixed...) This is one of the Classical. And ten years after its birth. The smooth Ambassador of the AXIS Locks is not only a Milestone, a Legend but also a reliable intelligently reliable design which has been abused and used through the years.

        One of my favorite Knives
First off I don't understand how anybody couldn't give this knife any less than 5 stars. This is a fantastic knife and I as anybody who has ever owned one can attest to why Benchmade has made this thing for so long. The steel is amazing as is the G10 handles and the axis lock. The only downside which also makes this knife awesome is the recurve of the blade. I don't have trouble sharpening it because of the sharpmaker but if I was inexperienced I could see how this could cause a problem.

        Great Knife
I received the knife in a few days as ordered, no delays. This knife is very sharp right out of the box. I like the G10 handle which has full liners and has a very solid feel. I take this knife when I'm hiking even with group hikes when a fixed blade might not seem appropriate. This is my first knife with d2 steel and I look forward to years of use with this knife.

        The perfect knife for me!
I have always loved knives & collected them, in a small way. I purchased this one for my daughter, when she was in high school. After about a year of carrying it, she decided it was overkill & traded it back to me for the size smaller of the same knife. She still carries it today! The knife is great in every manner. Has great steel. great handles, lock, etc... I carried this knife for close to 25 years. I recently lost it & had to buy a new one to replace it.

        Great Knife
I carry this knife almost daily. (My other carry is a Benchmade Triage for work) Love the knife as it is elegant yet tough. It fits my hand very well. The blade design is perfect for multiple uses, hunting, camping, chores... The axis lock is the best lock up system in my book, holds the blade securely open with no blade play. I've used this knife to open mail and cut up meat. Great Knife. Now the only down side. D2 steel. Tough steel but rusts. I won't carry this knife when I know I'll be sweating a lot or in a salty environment. I'm very fortunate to have this same knife in 154cm and it hasn't rusted once. You can no longer buy this knife in 154cm because of whatever reason. I would give this knife a 10 star review if they made it in S30V steel for the same price as the D2. My 154cm version I give a 10 star review.

        best knife i own.
one of the first couple knives ive bought from benchmade that isnt a crime to own in my state haha. retains an edge under extraneous use, is comfortable to hole and has a beautiful weight to it without being too heavy. i take it camping every time and i seem to use it over every other knife ive brought with me. it just... holds up to everything i put at it. the only downside (for me) is that the blade is a TOUCH too think for my liking, but i assume thats what makes it so durable and great so its a fair trade. only other con i can think of is that the d2 tooling steel will rust if you dont clean it off after use (which you should do anyway) i forgot to wipe it once or twice and there are tiny tiny rust marks up and down the blade, but not noticeable unless you look up close.
