Bastinelli Creations
Bastinelli Creations takes functional tools and boils them down to simplistic, useful designs with a little bit of style. They're known for their Dragotac folding knife with its versatile flat ground wharncliffe style blade and oddly shaped, yet wildly ergonomic handle. Many of their designs utilize this blade shape but all feature exceptional ergonomics and top of the line materials. The Kalinou fixed blade is a tactical tool that will give you peace of mind during any encounter. It features a 3" blade made from black PVD coated N690CO stainless steel, G10 handles and a shape that ensures a rock solid grip. The sheath is made from Kydex with holes to attach it to any belt or to carry it around the nexk. Manufactured by Fox in Italy, designed by Bastinelli Creations.

Ideal carry for Silat practitioners
I carry this product with me one a daily basis for EDC. Paper shaving sharp out of box, and that is the only way that any manufacturer should ship their knives. Because of the vanadium in the steel, the edge should hold for quite a while before I have to take a ceramic rod to it. The knife is extremely low profile and can be carried in the waist band with one simple IWB metal spring clip and adjoining hardware. The knife itself is well constructed and extremely lightweight. Simple movements with it such as extending and retracting are very fluid, at least for me. The scales of this karambit are very ergonomic and the jimping is thoughtfully placed. Of every karambit that I have owned, this one has the thinnest ring, but it is by no means flimsy or cheap feeling. The steel that is used by Fox on this knife is a quality steel that is simple to hone with a sharpening steel or any other system that uses corners or sticks. At first, I thought the knife was a bit small, but I began to understand that with a karambit, bigger is not always better. That's a total contradiction of the American mindset, right? This instrument all but disappears in my hand and the blade length is generous for an EDC fixed blade karambit. Having this makes better sense than to carry a folding one with much more weight, which the user has to compensate for when deploying for use. The coating is not cheap or flimsy and I suspect that it will help with keeping moisture off the blade and elsewhere on the knife. I am glad that I chose this version instead of the stonewashed. My preference. Grab it, get a metal clip and hook it on your belt or waist band. An hour later, you'll forget it's there.
