CS58ACL: 58ACL American Lawman
Cold Steel
Cold Steel is proud to include a series of knives named in honor of, and expressly designed to serve, our brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement.

These rugged knives are designed to perform in the most extreme environments and shrug off the harshest abuse, while still remaining comfortable to use and easy to carry.

Their "civilian friendly" and intentionally non-intimidating drop point blades are still big and sharp enough for almost any task. The Lawman's blades are made from American CTS XHP Alloy premium performance steel which is hollow ground to a thin, hand-polished edge and then DLC (Diamond Like) coated for ultimate endurance.

The American Lawman series handles are also designed to be as versatile and user friendly as possible. Made from textured American G10, and expertly sculpted for maximum grip security in even the coldest, wettest conditions they are fully ambidextrous and easily worn, carried and used whether you are left or right handed.

A lock failure on your folder is incredibly dangerous and may result in severely lacerated digits or even the loss of a finger - but if the lock fails on a police officer's knife, it could be a genuine disaster and result in loss of life! That's why Cold Steel has provided each American Lawman with the Tri-Ad locking mechanism. Designed to withstand terrific impact forces and almost impervious to shock, it has passed the most gruesome torture testing in the industry.

Cons: None
Good knife
The best thing about this knife (other than it being CS) is that it doesn't scream "tactical". It's not going make everyone in the room gasp or faint if you take it out. That may seem silly to some, but here in the Sheeple's Republic of CA., it's a big deal.

Great American Lawman
It's a great knife with super steel - and this for a very good price!!! Only the handle is a little too thin.

Cold Steel made a great knife even better!!!
Here's the difference between this new model and the 1st gen that aren't listed that you should know. Blade is eched American Lawman on one side and Cold Steel, CTS-XHP, Taiwan on the oppisite side right above the finger choil. Only the blade is coated in satin black Ionbond DLC (diamond like coating) but the lockbar and pocket clip are still coated in Tuff-Ex Teflon. Aluminum back spacer is still anodized black. The g10 handles are less aggressive and thinner than before. Texture feels similar to the g10 on Spydercos Para Military 2. Grip before would be a 10, now like a 5. No more sanding under the pocket clip. I would say the g10 handle thickness is cut almost in half also from 1st gen with no loss in strength. Thinner also makes the knife lighter. This new weight Comes in at 3.95oz on my scale vs 4.5oz of 1st gen. Everything else is the same as before. Rock solid lockup, shaving sharp out the box, tight pocket clip, and stiff lock bar spring. Great knife overall. Totally worth the extra money for the upgraded blade steel alone. DLC coating, G10 texture, and lighter weight are all bonuses in my book. Fast shipping from Knife Center as always. Hope this review helps.
