Description
SCH401L: 401L Large Ceramic Folder, Carbon Fiber Handle
Schrade

The Schrade Ceramic knife series will knock your socks off the with their ultra sharp blades and unbelievably lightweight design. The blades are made of hi-tech ceramic, which is 100% non-magnetic and provides outstanding edge retention and corrosion resistance. This does present the issue of brittleness in the blade with it being such a hard ceramic material. It is more prone to chipping and breaking in lieu of rolling or bending so be very careful what you cut with these knives. This model features a great looking, durable carbon fiber handle and a deep carry pocketclip. These are awesome, high value designs you're sure to love.

Worse Schrade ever made
I own 25-30 schrade knives and clean my grandson's finger nails with one that is about 30 years old. The Schrade SCH401L is not worthy to carry Schrade name. Stop selling these before everyone finds out. My knife would not open or close. I had to take off the clip to loosen the stud star screw, everything was superglued together and it didn't go back together. The other Schrade knives on this order were ok, but not up to a Schrade name that I used to love. ab

Great knife!
Alright, so you're look at Zirconia, (ceramic), knife. Its important to understand that this knife is NOT a steel bladed knife, and will not take the abuse a steel bladed knife will take. Nor was it designed to. I see reviews of people breaking these all the time and if you use it like a steel knife, then yea, its gonna break. If you use it for regular cutting and food prep, its not gonna break. It you try and use it for your camping knife, then will not survive. With that said, this is a well made, great looking, and very good performing knife. Its very light weight. Its a little stiff to open at first, but it will break in very nicely. The carbon fiber handles look fantastic, and the blade is beautiful. Its very sharp, and if used properly, will remain that way much longer than a regular knife. I use mine every day. It clips on my pocket securely, and you barely know its there. If you're familiar with ceramic bladed knives, you'll probably like this one. If this will be your first....take it easy with it. Over all, i love this thing. If it breaks, i will definitely buy another.
