LSLKN444: Madrock World Legal Slipjoint Knife
Lansky Sharpeners
Mikkel Willumsen has gained notoriety worldwide for his innovative and gritty Urban Tactical designs. Based in a repurposed factory in Copenhagen, Denmark, Mikkel has been designing and producing custom made knives for over 10 years, specializing in high quality folders and fixed blades. By bringing his talents and experience to Lansky, you can expect the functionally modern aesthetics that define his work, combined with Lansky Sharpeners’ unwavering dedication to quality.

The success of the Lansky/Mikkel Willumsen World Legal knife has given birth to another fantastic addition to the World Legal category: The Madrock.

The Madrock design upgrades over the initial world legal include the same blade length yet with a shorter overall length, a reduced weight for an enhanced everyday carry experience, and an inwardly curving blade for better cutting performance. The handle features a low-profile deep pocket clip and a tactile rubberized grip that resists slipping even when wet. This is definitely a two-hand opener and it requires some strength to overcome the substantial backspring pressure.

Pros: None
Cons: Ease of Opening
another good value from KnifeCenter
I just opened my KnifeCenter order, and my initial impressions of this knife are that it is about as sharp as factory knives come, and has a quality feel to it. It does however open in a peculiar way. Opening it is almost 2 distinct motions: one to 90 degrees where it stops unambiguously, and then the second to fully open. I've only opened the knife a dozen times so far. I did manage once or twice to get the knife all the way open in one fairly smooth motion, but that was by concentrating on the process and applying much more force than you would normally expect was needed for a folding knife. The updated original design (with Chinese steel replacing 440C) opens much more smoothly. Both models would benefit from some lubricant applied to the blade pivot. Overall, I think this knife was well worth the money.

Pros: Handle Material, Blade Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
Great quality value for money
Great EDC with obvious self defence potential - and as the name implies, an attractive asset for the regular traveller. Sharp as a razor out of the box, but I suppose that is to be expected. Value for money I think the Lansky series of knives are difficult to beat. Stunning service again from KnifeCentre!
