Description
SP170GP: C170GP Karahawk
Spyderco

The Karahawk — Spyderco's folding interpretation of the traditional karambit — just got better. This iconic knife features a ring at the butt end of the handle that allows it to be spun around the index finger with specific martial arts techniques. To make these specialized tactics even more effective, the Karahawk now features a reinforced ring. A layer of G-10 has been added between the handle's stainless steel liners to strengthen the structure and provide increased surface area. The internal corners of the ring's hole have also been radiused to eliminate square edges and ensure smooth, comfortable manipulation.

Designed by Spyderco's founder, Sal Glesser, the Karahawk is a highly evolved folding version of the Southeast Asian karambit. Its gently curved hawkbill blade is precision machined from VG-10 stainless steel and features both the Trademark Round Hole and an Emerson Opening Feature to ensure swift, positive blade deployment. It is supported by a high-strength back lock mechanism designed to withstand the stresses of defensive use and mated to a handle constructed of full skeletonized stainless steel liners capped with textured G-10 scales. The handle features a ring at the butt to facilitate traditional karambit manipulation techniques and is sized to keep the knife exceptionally compact and easy to carry. A reversible hourglass clip supports tip-up standard-grip and reverse-grip carry on both sides of the body.

Great purpose built EDC Knife
Hawkbill utility blade cuts/peels insulation, pipe/wire shrink wrap. Cut rope better than straight blade. Slice open bags of cement, sand, gravel, soil, manure... But this knife is not for work tasks. This knife is purpose built. Thin & light, easy to carry/conceal. Quick deploy with Emerson Wave. Smooth, strong lock. Wicked sharp blade. Perfect EDC; short blade (less than 2.5") makes it legal carry anywhere. EDC with a Dragonfly for utility cutting tasks. Great Spyderco design. Quality knife. Great service from Knife Center.

CQC knife.
I've had this knife for almost two years, I try my best to keep it in the best shape. I love the emerson wave the most. Sharp as hell and I strictly keep this in my pocket for self-defense use and light cutting.
