FQFI001: Iconic Titanium Large
Factor Equipment

The Iconic knife offers the highest quality components in a clean 4.72" body. The manual flipper features a drop point stonewashed blade made of CPM-S35VN steel from Crucible Industries. A ceramic ball bearing system flashes the blade out in a moments notice. The knife locks via its titanium frame lock and is finished with a front facing titanium handle and titanium pocket clip (tip-up). Includes polishing cloth and black nylon pouch.

CPM-S35VN Steel (Crucible Industries)

CPM-S35VN is one of the most coveted knife steels in today's premier and custom knives. This steel was designed and developed in cooperation by one of the best custom knifemakers in the US. Released to the tool and knife community, this steel offers great edge retention, toughness, stain resistance and still easy to sharpen.

A martensitic stainless steel designed to offer improved toughness over Crucible's S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM-S30V. Its chemistry has been rebalanced so that it forms some niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting niobium carbides for some of the vanadium carbides makes CPM-S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM-S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM-S35VN's improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. Because both vanadium and niobium carbides are harder and more effective than chromium carbides in providing wear resistance, the CPM stainless blade steels offer improved edge retention over conventional high chromium steels such as 440C and D2.

The CPM process produces very homogeneous, high quality steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional melting practices.

Factor Equipment uses titanium in many of their handles, clips, and liner and frame locking materials. They value it for three main advantages: Strength, appearance, and light weight. When combining the full formula of those three advantages, it results in what they believe is the best way to encapsulate and support their most premium folders.
