KS1776BLK: 1776BLK Link
Kershaw Knives

The missing link—between a quality, made-in-the-USA knife and a price most consumers can afford—has been found. Or, to be more precise, Kershaw is making it. Appropriately, it is called the Link and has been given the patriotic model number of 1776.

This Link, model 1776BLK, is Kershaw's drop-point blade model with Bohler M390 stainless steel. Bohler M390 is a powder metallurgically produced corrosion resistant martensitic stainless steel, with excellent abrasive wear resistance while maintaining good corrosion resistance.

The handles are machined from lightweight black aluminum. The sculpted lines of the handle provide for a comfortable and secure grip. It feels big and solid in the hand and offers a clean look.

For easy opening, the Link is equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening, accessed with the built-in flipper. The pocketclip is reversible for convenient left or right-handed pocket carry. The Link is made in Kershaw’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tualatin, Oregon.
Features
  • Flipper - May be used on wither manual or assisted opening knives. The "flipper" is a protrusion on the back of the blade that the user can pull back on , or flip, in order to move the blade easily out of the handle.
  • SpeedSafe - Assists you to open any SpeedSafe knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumbstud or pull back on the flipper, built into many Kershaw best sellers.
  • Liner Lock - Locks the blade open during use; one side of the knife's steel "liner," the steel plate to which the handle scales are attached, moves into position behind the blade to securely lock it open.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.
  • Made in the USA - When you see this on one of their knives, it means the knife was made in Kershaw's Tualatin, Oregon manufacturing facility by skilled Kershaw knifemakers.

it's about time
finally, a USA manufacturer with some sense, a pocket knife with great materials used for under $100 I wish others would learn from this, like g****r. We need good designs with quality materials. This is 1st class USA, and should be the standard to go by.

Awesome knife and blade.
A handy knife with exceptional materials. Been using mine for about a week on a ton of tasks, and it's stayed nice and sharp. Feels great in the hand, too. Definitely a worthwhile addition to your collection or as your all-around EDC.

Excellent Kershaw
The M390 on this seems to be heat treated about the same as the M390 on my ZT 0452cf, based on sharpening on a Wicked Edge. Even though this is a Speedsafe knife, I like it. I plan on daily carrying and using this for at least the next 6 months. After only a week the paint is already rubbed through on 1 handle scale, so it's going to have a good amount of honest wear patina.
