Built for work not show.
I've had my RD tanto since the spring of 2012 and in that time i have treated it rougher than any fixed blade i've ever owned.I've batoned in single digit temps, over a foot of snow, gone thru knots that put a hurtin' on some of my knives that are very popular with the fanboys online yet my RD tanto has never chipped or rolled it's edge.I can't say the same for some of my other knives though. My RD came with asymetrical grinds, but it's not like it's the only knife i've ever recieved that came that way, some of my Cold Steel's,Becker's,Sog's and others have came with uneven grinds and subpar fit/finish,that's life with mass produced knives,it's hit or miss.If that's a concern with you go higer-end or custom. The micarta handle on my RD was too blocky so i took some sandpaper and custom fitted the handle for MY hand,it was an easy fix,as was correcting the uneven grinds.I can't really complain because i only paid $74 for my RD.I wish that was all i paid for some of my other knives that the RD has outlasted and performed over the last couple years. If you dislike the sheath there's several options online that produce custom Kydex sheaths for the RD at affordable prices.

More WTF! than FTW!
I really wanted too like this knife, I really liked the blades size and geometry, I could even deal with the sheath and weight (not light) ... But that was all ruined by the worst production quality I have ever seen, The first knife was so bad I sent it back, (crease in the metal, a very bad grind that didn't even follow the blades geometry, spots of rust etc..) Bad Bad Bad, the second knife was better, but not without its serious issues, (irregular geometry), This was the first and last Ontario blade I will ever buy, I have never seen such sub par quality from any knife company, (If this company has any form of quality control I dread to think of what they don't let pass) Want boom for your buck? try Ka-Bar (BK's) or Cold Steel, or CRKT or pay the little extra and get a T.O.P.S, There are many great US knife companies, Unfortunately Ontario is not one of them, sad thing is there is no excuse for this, its just low standards,
