Simply Outstanding

I initially used this tactical folder at work, where I fell in love with it's ergonomic design, smooth action, and lifesaving features (window popper, hook-cutter). It took quite a bit of abuse, me being an infantryman, and still is as dependable as the day I purchased it. I would definitely recommend this the CQD Mk I to anyone who is looking for a well made knife for for tactical, utilitarian, or even everyday carry.

An all around great multi-function knife

I bought this knife to keep in my car as an emergency tool, glass breaker, seatbelt cutter and general utility survival tool. I was looking for something heavy duty in a folding knife that had real work ability. The Blackhawk CQD Mk I E is that knife for me. I have the partially serrated blade, and have put it in a nice folder sheath I bought from Tad Gear that cane also go one my belt or pack. The only downside I can see is that it does not come with any kind of sheath or case, and it takes a bit of practice to open the knife efficiently without causing a stir from anyone nearby. It's a brute!

Awesome Piece

I had wanted to buy this product for quite some time. Once I finally did and held the knife in my hands, I realized that this is the ultimate tactical folder. It's big, mean and very well constructed. The glass breaker and belt cutter features are a bonus. The blade deploys smoothly, although not as quick as the CRKT M21. The secondary lock is an excellent idea, as the folder becomes a fixed blade. The only drawbacks, and there are only two: The position of the pocket clip and the fact that this folder is so big, it is not an EDC knife. It is very high-profile and nasty looking. There is no way you can reason with a cop if he catches you with one in your pocket. "But officer, I use it to cut boxes." Yeah... sure. The knife looks like it means business and it does. With such a reasonable price-tag, there's no reason not to buy this knife. I highly recommend this knife to collectors and "operators" alike. I am confident that this knife will never fail.

Still Love This Knife

I reviewed this knife a while back and figured I'd come back and say how great this knife still is. I've sharpened it a few times... which is really easy. The blade holds an edge and is tough as hell. I've even chopped small branches with it. The blade shows some wear, which is normal... as does the pocket clip. It's not even remotely discreet to carry. I did have to dull the glass-breaker a wee bit because it scratched my arm a few times. I would have preferred the glass-breaker on the pommel, but no biggie. Over-all, I've use this knife for anything and everything and it's always with me. It's big, heavy and tough as nails. Also, in a defensive situation, I've no doubt that just seeing this thing deployed will give the attacker something to consider. This ain't no cheapie box-cutter. At the price, buy several!

Good Combat Knife

I use the product in every day life as a useful tool. Great is the Seat Belt / Cord Cutter with the two blades. The knives I have until now have only one blade. The shape of the handle suits my hands very good. I can use it very good with wet hands or even with gloves, I get a good grip at the handle. The pointed rear end can be of good use as a Kubutan should in need of self-defense. The knife can be opened very fast, the radius of the blade is very good. Not so great I find the following points: The black coated blade is reflecting quite strong.

Not for the outdoorsman

It's everything others have said about it, but the blade dulls quickly with minimal use making it impractical for the outdoors man. Get a good sharpener.
