Great combat knife

This is a great knife! Feel ok in the hand before you wrap the handle, and very good after. Well balanced knife with a razor sharp blade. I really like the D2 steel...it is really tough. Nice retention on the sheath. With 5 holes on each side your mounting/carry option are only as limited as your imagination. The tek lok that comes with it is way too big and bulky so I will not be using that for this knife. The short plain edge on the top of my blade came out of the box very dull. It takes a bit of work to get it sharp due to the type of steel but it's not too difficult. Great product overall!

Love Benchmade, Love D2 steel

Here's the thing: I have not yet had this knife out in the field to really test it, BUT the only thing to really test is the sawback spine. It's benchmade quality in terms of both the knife and the sheath and my favorite pocket knife has a D2 blade so I am very familiar with D2 and absolutely love it. It keeps an edge for a long time and -- once you know how to sharpen it -- takes an edge right back. There are a few things that make this blade stand out to me: the handguard, the handle and the sheath. The handguard is significant and you're not going to run your hand up the blade. The sheath is the most incredible design ever in that it is extremely low profile with adjustable friction retention and optional jump proof retention. Then handle sucks to hold until you wrap it at which point it is excellent. I can't wait to really work it and test out the sawback which I am a tad skeptical about.

Great as a hunting knife

Got this during a deployment, but using it as a hunting knife now. Just field dressed and skinned a wild pig with it, and it performed well. Good as a skinner with the deep belly, punctured hide well, and is light and maneuverable. Blade length is just right for cleaning game. Didn’t try the serrations on bone, have a saw for that, but may see if that works in the future. Only recommendation is to wrap the handle in camo cloth tape instead of paracord, as it’s easier to remove and clean or replace if bloody.

Awesome.

Landscaper who uses this knife daily. Excellent feel and decent sheath. Only drawback is that finish wore off rather fast and steel will rust if u don't dry it after use . I clean regularly and occasionally have a Lil rust to clean off. Overall very nice blade.
