Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Sheath: Who cares?
So it comes with a throw-away sheath. I'm surprised it comes with one at all at this pricepoint. Just get a nice spec-ops or kydex and enjoy ;-)

CRKT Quality
This, as with all CRKT fixed blades, comes with an excellent kydex sheath, Lucas Burnley designed this knife to be carried in the waistband, or can easily be used with tek-loc. That aside, this knife and steal are excellent, light, lively, durable, easily sharpened. It is a great utility or defensive knife, great grip, larger hands may find it small.

Probably from China, but nice knife; grab one while you can
Just got this, and have not used it, but seems rugged (and long-bladed enough) to baton wood. It arrived razor sharp. I like the steel, the blade thickness, and even the sheath (except it has no provision to wear on the belt). Knife retention in the sheath seems good; I might get a tech. lock for the sheath. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall fit and finish. It feels fast to use, though I didn't buy it for self-defense. Blade thickness is also a plus. Thank you Knife Center for the great price and terrific service.

Great Knife-- Who Cares About the Sheth
I bought other friend wil this (and two others (one of which I've given to a friend; another friend will get the other) to keep in a hiking/survival pack. That's why I don't really care about the wearability of the sheath. This is an equivalent of a buyout knife; it'll be there if I need it for any use (self-defense, battening, using on a fire steel; food prep. . . . ) My original model came with a strong, sharp blade. I like that it's stainless-- it'll be safe for food prep, without my having to add toxic chemicals to keep a carbon steel blade from rusting. Thank you again Knife Center-- I bought one a couple of months ago; they're still on sale, so I bought two more. Great oviduct; great price and great service.

Knife is great. Sheath not so great.
I will say first that the knife is great. Give it 5 stars. But the sheath, aside from retaining the knife well, does not lend itself to any sort of carry option. I removed the J-hook. At least now I can stick the knife/sheath in my pocket safely. But now I would have to pull it from the pocket and use two hands to remove the knife. Well, at least the knife won't rip my pocket. About all the sheath is good for is protecting the knife blade. I suppose I'll look for an aftermarket sheath. There are a lot of them out there. I'e done it before with some other knives. Get the knife for the knife and forget the sheath. The knife is worth having even if you decide to keep it in the car in a handy place. One thing is sure. If you stick it in your side pocket you can always grab it and jab with the sheath on before removing the knife for a second strike. Then you'll have a weapon in each hand because the sheath is strong.

Beautiful knife but the plastic sheath/scabbard sucks...
I absolutely love the design of the knife but the plastic sheath/scabbard sucks and is literally unusable. There is a weird plastic "J" hook like is on some Galco inside the pant holsters. It cannot be used any other way...no belt loops or slots. Therefore the knife/scabbard combo is a total waste of money. I work for a national chain of sporting goods stores and when the knife first arrive in our store I was very excited. When I actually saw the scabbard I said no way will we be able to sell this knife...and I was right. The poorly designed sheath/scabbard is a the deal breaker and our customers agree. I have not been able to sell a single one when I show the stupid sheath/scabbard to the customer.
