Solid Throwing Knife For Beginners Like Me
The Perfect Balance was my first throwing knife, and I really love it. Compared to my other knives (Ziel II and Gil Hibben Cord Grips), this one is a real monster -- big and heavy. I love that satisfying THUNK when it sticks deep in the target. I actually started out thowing at an old (partially hollow) interior door I got at a recycling place, and this knife would penetrate all the way through the back. Anyway, it's holding up really well. The tip is good, and the handle scales are still nice and tight. I was worried about them breaking off, but so far (a few hundred throws later) there's no damage at all. I actually was hoping that the blade edge would be sharp, but this one is pretty dull. I mean, unlike the Ziel II, at least the Perfect Balance does have an edge, but it's not really that sharp. But I guess I can just sharpen it. That way I could use the knife as a thrower or for anything else. My first stick was 1/2 spin from about 7-8 feet out. It was perfectly level to the ground, so I was thrilled for that being my first stick! Anyways, I definitely recommend this knife for beginners like me, and also for more experienced throwers too.
